I just got back from an awesome hiking trip. My buddy and I hiked up on Mount Washington to do some Backcountry skiing. It was phenomenal and the amount of snow still left up there is incredible. Here's a couple of my favorite pics from the weekend: My buddy preparing his pack for the 3000' snowshoe climb up: Crystal Cascade which is a cool waterfall near the bottom of the mountain: Tuckerman Ravine, this by far the most popular ski run on Mount Washington: Hillmans highway/Lower Snowfield area, this is the area we decided to hike into because it was getting good sun and looked to be softest, also the lines are steep and challenging:
On the way back down you get to ski a cool ski trail that leads you all the way back to the parking lot: It did get a bit thin towards the bottom at lower elevations though and I have no Idea what is with the purple stripes: Success at the bottom: Delicious reward at the end of the day:
wow, gorgeous! i was just boarding in colorado, didn't get to do any back-country though. that snow does look pretty think but hey, it works
That's fuckin beautiful dude. I wish I lived closer to places like that. I've never been skiing or boarding, living in the south and all. lol
Yeah it really is awesome up there. Its so rewarding too because this time of year the only way to get there is to hike your ass up with skis on your back for the 3000' vertical climb. We were lucky it got warm enough so the snow got nice and soft plus there was virtually no wind which is practically unheard of for Mount Washington.
I love spring riding, unfortunately Ontario doesn't have much to offer in terms of mountains and spring came nice and early this year and took away all of our snow. I only went boarding once this season, but your pics make me wish I went out more. Next year I'll make it a bigger priority.
you must be part polar bear dood?.. But you never visit us on Mt Everest.. .. Would you take part in the excursion with us and party 8 miles high..
Toes keeps diggin up my old threads ha ha. I'll prolly be headin back up there come easter time again It's becoming a yearly tradition.

I’ve been up there dozens of times (only a 2 hour drive) but during the sanity of mid-summer never during the winter months Hotwater
