All the fascists I have ever read about have been nasty minded people who were sadistic killers . Anyway have there ever been any nice fascists who almost everyone can agree is a really great person a bit like almost everyone agrees that president kennedy was a good man? I wouldnt vote for people who said they wanted to put people in prison camps or shoot someone just because of their religion. PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT : anyone who is a leader of a party that calls itself nationalist or fascist or extreme right wing that is a very very nice man. BTW can a woman be a fascist leader?
not all nationalist parties are fascist, ie, contrast the scottish nationalist party with the brittish nationalist party (the SNP are half electable, despite being shit, the BNP are just plain fucking fascist)

His idea of changing the Constitution to include Christianity and support Christians is not only unAmerican, but also incredibly Fascist. There is not a DAMN THING wrong with Christianity- it is the people that use Christianity as a tool to win people and elections over are what is wrong. There is not a DAMN THING wrong with Christianity Well, some of the more fucked up Xians actually think that their religion functions in the real world, and I would consider that to be a serious defect. The minor stuff- the ritual cannibalism and vampirism, the annoying assholes who try to convert you to their weird cultish beliefs- I can sort of overlook.

Oh, there's been very many good fascists. Mussolini for one, he loved to talk and sleep with many, many women. Ezra Pound was also not sadistic in any way and had a love life. It's hard for me to reference many fascists today because they're not very easy to find, I don't call Conservatives fascists and nazis aren't fascists, they're nazis and skinheads are just idiots.

I have to say I'm a little unsettled by this thread. We need to be careful about defining fascism in overly simplistic terms. The forms it took in Nazi Germany were certainly grotesque, but usually, especially these days, it's much more subtle. It's hidden behind rhetoric about national/cultural unity, patriotism, racial pride, bringing civilization to the savages. In the words of the Ku Klux Klan, it's about "Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America! A Message of Love NOT Hate!". Life in a full blown fascist state might not feel much different than the life you live now: going to work every day (be it as a guard in a concentration camp, or at the widget factory, producing widgets for the ovens), coming home to your family, watching tv, shopping at the grocery store, etc. But if you really value life and freedom, it's just as vile. I read all the time about how unbelievably ordinary the war criminals at Neuremburg were.... For the most part, they were now monsters so much as they were people like you or me who were indeed "just doing their job". Once the gates of Auschwitz are closed, and the smoke rising from the chimneys of the ovens, it's way too late. And with all the talk I see here of benign globalization I read on these boards, I don't have much hope. Don't be fooled. Fascism is much more sophisticated than you think.
I work with a skinhead who's actually a really nice guy, even to the non-white coworkers. Really weird.
