Something Pissed me off today

So i am part of the jet dragster team in my college, and we had a film crew come and film us working on the car. And they wanted to film us being interviewed in front of a poster of the car. The guy said "i want two guys to stand in front of this poster." my buddy and i started walking over and one of the guys stopped me and told me "im sorry im not RACIST or anything but we need a guy without dreadlocks"...WHAT THE F*CK?!?!

Lol I really hope I'm never faced with that kind of situation coz I'm no way near chilled enough not to just go ape, despite the fact that there are probably much smarter things to do

Then again, usually I'm so dumbfounded and blinded with rage that I'm saved from myself by just being unable to do or say anything until it's too late

that is so shitty. I haven't been discriminated against yet, but everywhere I go I get SO many stares it's insane. I used to love being the center of attention, but it's starting to get excessive. and i fucking hate when people bring up my dreads and their first comment is "so you don't wash them, right?" God Dammit. Yeah, i'm a fucking filthy hippie. better make a sign and sit on the street corner with my guitar and a tip jar....

That's a pretty lame situation. Quite uncalled for too. He could have just said he meant someone else, rather than bringing in the DL thing. I haven't had a rude dready run in yet(aside from odd looks).I normally get just questions/insults about piercings. Even now when I have the least amount I've ever had. *shrugs*

Sorry to hear about that though, it's just something that happens whenever you don't look 'mainstream'/average.

This times ten. People who threaten lawsuit (or actually go through with it) for something that trivial suck. It's your decision to have dreadlocks, with that decision comes an understanding that there are a lot of shitty people in the world who will give you weird looks and occasionally say something inappropriate. It's something you'll just have to get over because it's not going to go away...
