then refrain from bringing up your fears about salmonella. it's obviously flown above your head that monsanto is the main corporate sponsor of this bill. it's also flown over your head that too much government inteference is a surefire way to screw things up even more. you've obviously failed to look at monsanto's history and what they;ve been up to for the past many years. people's fears about this potential law are very real and very justified. just because big corporations oftentimes have intents full of malice and conflicts with your spoonfed worldview. doesn't mean you should continue to bury your head in the sand. this bill reeks of nationalisation of farming. let's look up the defintion of nationalisation http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nationalisation noun1. the action of forming or becoming a nation [syn: nationalization] 2. the action of rendering national in character [syn: nationalization] 3. changing something from private to state ownership or control [syn: nationalization] [ant: denationalisation] number three is the piece of the puzzle here.
yes HHB, this bill is full of ambiguity. some can't seem to take notice to that fact though. they seem to be having a wonderful time wallowing in their blissfull ignorance. i'm seriously wondering if any of them have truly bothered to read it or not. i think some of these folks are trying to convince us to be more trusting of this new guy in office than we were of the last dude in office. but as george carlin once said in regards to government. garbage in and garbage out.
im not going to regurgitate my feelings on this piece of legislation. i have said what issues i have with it in this thread. Gov is making Organic Farming Illegal... now i ask ANYONE defending this bill to SHOW ME. where it says that backyard gardeners or those that farm for personal use,not to mention small time farmers like sell at farmers markets and fruit stands will be exempt.. YOU CANT BECAUSE AS WRITTEN THEY ARE NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think i'm done with this thread, because some seem convinced that you can take whatever laws the government enacts at face value.
thats the problem. if they read the bill and took it for its literal interpretation they would see that they are wrong. what defines a farm? a orchard? sure as hell aint a definition in the bill.where does it say only those that sell will be subject to the rules of this bill? nope that aint in there either . they are taking what the main stream media says about the bill without reading it themselves to see what they have been told is not the case.
it's obviously flown above your head that monsanto is the main corporate sponsor of this bill. You're really flying off the handle here, aren't you? LOL ... You might need to go back to high school Civics, though. The way it works in the United States, bills in Congress don't have "corporate sponsors". Bills are introduced in congressional committees, then voted on by the particular house as a whole. Corporations don't get a vote .. lol. Aside from that, you're straying from your original point that HR875 "outlaws organic farming", which you still haven't demonstrated. So again I say ... show me where it says anything about organic farming, or about individual farms, or about backyards. You can't show me, cause it's not there. And I have no idea where you're getting this "nationalization" thing. I guess you're taking the idea of increased government regulation, which you apparently don't like, and drawing some kind of farfetched conclusions from it. There are government regulations about all kinds of things. That doesn't make them "nationalized". We have regulations about auto safety. Does that mean the auto industry is "nationalized"? We have regulations about what you can do and say on television. Does that mean that the television industry is "nationalized"? Of course not. That's absurd. yes HHB, this bill is full of ambiguity. some can't seem to take notice to that fact though. umm ... I believe he was talking to you.
read the other fucking thread. i never said a fucking word about banning organic farming.. fucking retards in this world.
i disagree. the bill deserves to be addressed no matter what the actual premise of the OP was. people need to be made aware of the implications of it.
no, but they sure do stuff a shitload of money into politicians pockets to influence their votes. this is not a new practice. but what rock have you been living under for most of your life lady? stop being so stubborn. i'm done here, pulling teeth would be much easier than convincing someone that refuses to be convinced about how politics work. just look at who the husband is of the main person sponsoring this bill. he works for monsanto, get a clue lady. if you don't think big corporations or banks influence politics. you truly must be living under a rock, and if you think his response was only aimed towards me, why would he not just have pmed me? stop being so blatantly stuborn, all the reason why this bill is a horrible idea has been covered anyways. it's nobody else's fault you can't look at something from someone else's viewpoint. you act like one of those people who eat, sleep, breathe and shit whatever they're told by their tv sets or newspapers. to me that's no better than believing everything jeff rense or alex jones tells you. i wonder if you're on my ass because i hurt your "latin" pride by informing you that hispanic originally meant someone from spain specificly. if you want to know what a law or bill is really about, just look to who such a law would benefit financially. next thing you'll try to tell me is that george bush's oil industry connections had zero to do with his influence to go into iraq. have a nice life lady and keep swimming in ignorance. ps-you've officially become almost as annoying as brave sir rubin is.
you can bet your ass they'll most likely tack on other provisions to this bill. they do it with other bills that become law all of the time. it's why in my state back in 2007 when voters voted no on a statewide tobacco tax increase. they attached the tax increase to a completelty unrelated bill. the government works in mysterious ways
get a clue lady You're keep saying you're "done", but then you keep coming back to vent on me. Aren't you capable of reasonable debate? All I said was that the bill says nothing about organic farms. Which is absolutely true. You then blew a gasket about a bunch of other stuff that has nothing to do with anything, including going off on me personally. What's the matter, can't stand for a woman to disagree with you?
That's because we're from another planet,(as I was accused of being taking over by aliens), and we just stop on Earth for a while, and apparently, we're not entitled to know what we know, and they try to convince us to conform to their words and the system for that matter... We'll I've had it with the BS here on Earth... come'on, let's go back to my planet XYZZY... at least there's no gov there to mess it up.
yeah man, you and dilli are on my list of truly hip people... not many of us left... just wait for the peace sign crop circle in your field, and I'll beam up your entire piece of land and transplant you somewhere nice, with a decent flowing creek(no log jams) and no neighbors or satellite peepers.
The only mention of Organic farming is differentiating between organic farms and non-organic farms regarding the lowering of taxes on organic farms to encourage more of it.
