My old school used to filter waste water and use it in the sinks in the science labs.

Consider the amount of energy required to provide safe, potable water from it's source and then the cost of removing the used product, clarifying it and re-using thru the same sanitary system. It requires approximately 6 watts of power to provide 1 gallon of treated water thru a fixture. Approximatelly 78% of this water is classified as grey water that could be used for purposes other than drinking. Think of the savings in terms of energy not spent and pollution not created. Then, think of your responsibility.
