A headshop by my house has kits for about 120. It seems to be just a plastic container with everything you need inside. Has anyone used one of these, and do they work well? what could me an approx. yield? thanks for your help
in what country do you live in? anyway, those growkits are illegal in the US, so i've never tried one. but they are supposed to work amazingly well, but the yield will be infinitely smaller than what you could produce with the same financial investment and just doing the work yourself. www.shroomery.org is a great resource for learning about growing your own mushrooms easily and affordably. 120 dollars should get you a fully functional setup to produce about as many mushrooms as you desire. it should not be the cost of a single small grow.
its probably similar to the mycodome where it can do everythign for you. I've read some reviews and it's simply not worth the money. You can make your own out of a bin which will allow you to grow more at once. google the mycodome and research it and then maybe make a decision. i'm pretty sure theres videos on youtube as well.
do what nesta said, once you get your initial gear and are rolling you should only need worry about substrate costs, and it's cheap, selling them is almost pure profit.
this is what i was assuming it was: http://www.amazing-nature.com/magic-mushroom-grow-p-53.html?language=en rather than something like this: http://www.mushbox.com/img/prodimage-mycodome.jpg
it would be nice if we could order the first one in the states but it's illegal... the only thing you can order is the spores with the exeption of a few states the mycodome you have to innoculate and birth yourself it just regulates humidity and temperature so you dont have to do anything on that front
exactly, which can be done, albeit with extremely limited precision yet with acceptable success, on the cheap in a big way at home with some perlite, fanning, and air conditioning/central heating i would like a fancy shmancy setup, but the mycodome would offer extremely low yields with only moderate improvements upon simple DIY but enormous extra costs, and if you're willing to DIY for a little more money you can construct a very sophisticated system!
exactly.. for the price of the mycodome you can build your own system that will be much larger and allow you to have much larger yields... theres teks out there on how to build your own self regulationg system for half the price
