I don't mean people who just don't smoke or say it's bad, no. I'm talking about people who will go out of their way to make you seem like an asshole for enjoying a cigarette. Open bars to smokers again, that law is redaunkulous. Bring back the smoking sections in restaurants. We should be able to take up a small, closed off portion of the building, thankyewverymuch. I'm tired of seeing those damn ads on tv, too! Especially that one about babies learning to crawl so they can escape secondhand smoke. Put your damn baby somewhere else while you're smoking, it shouldn't be such a problem! Babies are close to the ground anyway, so there's less smoke down there. They're fine. </rant> Anyone feel the same?
I would go out of my way to destroy tobacco as a industry itself.. but its pointless since Im so weak from smoking .. *cough* id collapse. ;p but I dont go out of my way to much to stink about the idiots smoking them, cause I am one myself. But I will occasionally tell someone when they are doing it in restricted areas. And thats cause some of that is a law, and fire concerns. Otherwise I dont give a shit.
I have quit smoking recently, and before I wasn't too big of a smoker just like a pack and a half a week, and I agree with you completely. Even if you don't smoke it isn't that bad to have a smoking section, especially in bars and diners. I would probably start smoking again if I could have a cig while drinking some endless coffee at a 24 hour diner. I don't even really drink coffee anymore because it just isn't the same without a cigarette haha.
I don't really care too much about people who will go out of their way to make you feel bad about smoking, or people that say "you shouldn't be smoking!!". I just ignore it and do whatever the hell i want.. and smoke a cigarette whenever i want. I really do hate, though that you can't smoke in public places anymore. I didn't think there was any problem at all with having a smoking section in a restaurant, thats how it's been forever. Smoker's sections and non smoker's sections are kinda far apart in restaurants anyway, aren't they usually? So i don't see the big deal..
the smoking ban sucks. they raised cigarette tax too where im at like 60 cents recently. which blows. squares are like 6$ a pack now for me. man, youd think theyd just let the private business owners decide whether or not they want smoking in their place. you know? seems like a personal freedom issue there. and as far as the tax...fuck that, man! i think i'm living in the worst era in history to be a smoker.
the cigarette tax pisses me off so bad. they're over 5 bucks now, wtf?? i can't even afford cigs now. i wish i could quit smoking so i wouldn't have to pay that ridiculous amount for cigarettes
8 bucks here for Winstons or American Spirits, at the 7-11.. if you hunt around you can get them .. 2 for 9 bucks. Rollng my own now... which gets a little confusing ..:sifone:
Yeah, in my opinion it's just wrong to forbid something which was always allowed and at least half of the people doesn't even want it to change or don't care about. But I guess it's just been done...
i don't smoke but it's like i almost do because everyone around me smokes....gotta love second hand smoke..... don't really pay attention to those ads.
As a former smoker; If I want to go to a restaurant, concert, bar, club whatever I don't want to smell that shit. MMM nothing better than the smell of cigs coming from the "smoking section" that is just an unpartitioned area while I'm trying to eat. People make a decision to smoke so they can smoke outside.
I'll gladly smoke outside if someone doesnt like the smell of smoke, but I dont like people coming up to me and telling me about how I'm ruining my life by smoking cigarettes.
If it's in a restaurant I can understand it because people are trying to enjoy their meals. In the pub you should just be allowed to light one up.
It's not fair to the employees of the pub that are non-smokers though. walking around in a room full of second hand smoke is terrible for you, especially day after day. I don't smoke cigarettes because they taste like shit and are a very unpleasant smoke. I'm not going to rag on other people for their choices though.
They are here, I believe, they were $6 change the last time I bought a pack, so I assume it's hovering around $7 now. When I went to NYC back in the fall, a pack of camels cost me $9 even, so I'm assuming they're in the the $10 change area there now
I just enjoy a cigar here and there after a riveting game of monopoly! ...despite that I live in a no smoking apartment haha
