When I was younger I used to be really into christianity. I went to a really liberal church and I got into the idea of christian mystics alot. As aged I eventually found things with christianity that I couldn't agree with and I started really exploring other religions. Some point after that I got really into psycedelics and now I have absolutely no idea hat I believe.

My mother started forcing me to go to church every sunday once I started getting in trouble. I actually don't mind church that much, I just resent the fact that I am being forced to go and I usually end up in church dressed in the most wrinkled stained clothes possible with some degree of hangover and two hours of sleep.

They didn't. I would have disowned them if they did.

i went to catholic school until 8th grade when we moved and i went to public school for 8th grade ...my parents kinda pushed it and i didnt think much of it til 8th grade then decided that it didnt make much since to me especially after the priest at the new church was all god hates gays and if your gay you shouldnt be here and abortions are horrible and you better vote for bush or you will go to hell...
anyways after that i talked to y mom about that a little and she didnt believe that either and cut back on going to church because of him (well probably actually more me questioning and making a big deal about it or she may have more quietly disagreed)..
then i started to try to learn about other religions to see what i really believed...turns out I kinda just believe my own thing now it’s a mix of some stuff and some just me but I believe in science more than religion and still consider myself agnostic…
my mom on the other hand has always been catholic but disagrees on some of the things mentioned before and last year when I told her I am not catholic ad told her some of the stuff that I believed she was kinda pissed …recently she is getting more religious on me and pushing it on me and it annoys the hell out of me but I just ignore her…not much she can do about it now

my mom did; according to her i'm still a catholic.

i was never exactly devout, but i didn't really bother seriously questioning anything until i was in my early teens and my church started forcing us to pray for the church to make money. it didn't take long after that for me to entirely give up on it, but i still pretended to believe for my mom's sake until i moved out of her house. now we just don't really discuss it.

the subtle mechanisms of society served to trap me in the cave of doom.

When I finally managed to escape it, i was left devoted to the green green grass.

Its mystical properties still manage to bewilder me on a calm and starry night.

Nah, not at all, my dad was an atheist and my mom was a Unitarian or a Buddhist depending on the season. My mom was pretty open to whatever I believed.

That being said, those people were monsters.

My parents came from a Christian background and thankfully they didn't push it on me, only my grandma did; she mailed us Christian-themed birthday/christmas cards and one time an illustrated book of the Bible for kids.

I was baptised Catholic and did the whole first communion thing, but it was my mothers way of introducing some sort of spirtuality into my life. None of use are religious, we are a family of agnostics. And we do not attend church.

It's unfair to say that my parents tried to push religion onto me. Their faith and community was apart of their life and it made sense to share that part of organized religion with me. But I was never forced to gruel over bible study or could only go to a Church dance with a chaperon.

They enrolled me into good Catholic Schools, and I've continued to attend from JK-University.

I took the initiative to get more involved in Church activities though, out of interest and boredom. I joined choir, started altar serving at my church, read the gospel, help serve church lunches & dinners & cook & clean, handed out wine and the body of Christ, and I joined the Chaplancy Team in high school. We organized coat drives, angel-campaigns, leadership retreats and gave out communion whenever we had school mass.

I still sing in the choir when I don't have to work Sundays.

    Exactly!!!

It's fun to play Black Jack at our church gambling night or eat pancakes on fat tuesday. It's just fun to be part of church for me, and I don't really do it because I support organized religion or even really believe in God.

My parents and my entire hometown pushed it, so I had very little choice to go along with it. For a while. I moved out of there as soon as I could.

No.my parents have different faiths. My dad is catholic, and mom claims Christianity- but her beleifs are closer to pagan ones than christian ones. ..and my older bro(10 yrs older) was atheist from a very early age. So, our house was pretty open about that.Lots of fun debates.. especially now that both of my sisters are pagan.

We lived in a very baptist community so the community pushed it a bit,
My grams tried and took us to church and stuff, but not my parents.

My parents pushed religion on me when I was 14 and by the time I was 16 they figured I had enough of church and we quit going.

No..they never pushed or had any kind of religion. I learned through experience about religion and know that it should never obligatory.
