my boss is a long dread, rasta... he inspired me to go the natural route with my new set... and because i see him a lot he keeps on inspiring me to have patience...
dont think there was someone specific...dreads have had a special place in my head ever since i was little, just grew from there, until they made it on the outside
mmmmmmmm mr manganelliiiii.... mmm. and yes at narniaaaaaa. im about to start reading Prince Caspian, im working my way through the series =]
I've had two inspirations cause they both look gorgeous with dreads... Cristian Machado specifically, but also other members of of Ill Nino - And even though they weren't real dreads...Angelina Jolie...
wow! i havnt seen that pic in like years, but as soon as i saw it i remember falling in love with that dude lol dreads, undercut, stretched labret... so hot. and lol at the asian lady in behind.
ani difranco in "render" was probably my biggest inspiration when i got my first set, although i'd been thinking about it a while before that.... kinda didn't really know what exactly they were at first, and then it became sorta like an urge and i HAD to learn more about dreads, and then GET dreads.... 4 sets later still have em, not getting rid of them this time! no wax this time, that's probably the deal maker! LOL and the funny thing is that ani doesn't have dreads anymore!
I went to this thing called the commongrounds fair in Maine and there was tons of dreads and they were all awesome. So i got my friend to backcomb my hair and i put wax in it. At least i got the wax from someone else so i didnt end up buying it from dumbass dreadhead or whatever. They would have been sick dreads though cause they were all uneven and shit and would have looked natural in a couple years, but im kind of glad i cut them cause it let me go natural. I havent cut or brushed my hair since the first time i tried dreading it.
i have a few: munky from KoRn my neighbor (floyd) jack sparrow and that's all of my dreadsperation people.
not really a person in particular that inspired me to actually get them... however, reading many of SE's posts on this forum did change my reasons for wanting them...and because of that i want them much more... stupid job does that work?
my inspiration mostly came from you lot to be honest as well as a couple of celebrities, john from korn rob zombie etc
A friend of my uncle has dreads and those are awesome. Ever since I met him (when I was 12) I've wanted dreads, but my mother thought i was still too youngh then. So I waited three years and now my dreads are like 10 months and a day :]
Change was my inspiration. I had never before this considered dreads or really had much appreciation for them. I liked them ok on other folk but meh.... I just needed a drastic change in my life and it just kept rolln' from there (moved across the country two months later!)
