Question wasn't directed to you, but since you answered... what was their initial reaction and why do you talk like that? Is that a requirement to change your dialect? I've never heard of that in any other religion. And I'm not trying to heckle, I'm just wondering.

 

Its not a requirement. Some people Rasta change their dialect so they aren't conforming with Babylon.

 

people wouldn't get mad if they weren't so defensive about an image they are projecting to their e-friends of being something they are not. rasta is a black social movement. i doubt any of the kids on this forum representing themselves as 'razzzta' have ever felt the kinds of oppression felt by black carribeans at the start of the rasta movement. leonard howell would laugh at a white boy tryna call himself a rasta.

Yeah, I was gunna say... it's funny how you pick and choose what parts of Babylon you won't conform to. It's also ironic that you chose to change your dialect so you aren't conforming with Babylon. I think grammer is the least of most Rasta's problems with Babylon though I could be wrong. I know there are a few things they say differently but talking like a damn Jamaican makes you seem like a bit of a poser. Just sayin'.

 

What does natural philososasafy hating white rastas have anything to do with dreads?

This thread has nothing to do with dreadlocks, besides the fact that it is one of the things he mentioned about why white people cant be rasta.

I just got so angry thinking how on earth can this person post a picture of me as an example as if he knows me? Its totally uncalled for and disrespectful.

I have emailed NP and offered to discuss this in private as was his request for anyone wanting 'schooling' on the matter so we will see which path the child takes.
