so i kno everyone says that if u get ur dreads made or fixed in a salon they cake the dreads in chemicals this that and the other but .... what if u went to a salon and the person didnt use no chemicals at all but either backcombed ur hair or crochet them or even twist and ripped... would any of u go there??
if you are thinking about backcombing or twist and rip method have someone you know do it.. it will save you a lot of money!
nah, I just could never justify spending money on something my hair would do naturally, or that I could do myself, I don't need my hair to be perfect, I like it's weird unique messyness. Paying for dreads for me is like buying bottled water when you live somewhere with clean free water flowing all around you...
If I couldn't find anyone to help me, and I was a quadriplegic. Or if there was someone (like that person whatshisname recommended) that was really fucking awesome at crocheting and I wanted neat uniform locks then definitely if the price is right. Otherwise, I'd probably go neglect and rip as needed or have a friend start them up for me and pay them in beer.

Just be careful, cause it hurts more when theyre drunk. I had my hair backcombed once a few years ago, the last few he did he was drunk and i was tripping on mushrooms so it kind of hurt haha.
Depended on the price. I would more than likely get my husband to do them as he's quite good. But he can be a prick sometimes and refuse to do my hair. If he WAS being a prick and it cost like £30 then I would.
