we get all our seeds from www.rareseeds.com but i am telliing you right now you are going to have a VERY ROUGH TIME finding seeds right now.

the potential for economic collapse has overwhelmed almost all seed companies.
    other recommended sites to try,

    http://www.seedsavers.org/Content.as...=buyonline.htm
    www.fedcoseeds.com
    www.bountifulgardens.org
    http://www.sandhillpreservation.com/

dont be surprised if they are sold out of a lot of things.

as crazy as this sounds, try your local dollar general. ours carry quite the selection of organic heirloom seeds.

walmart and lowes carry some as well, just be sure and read the packets it says on them if they are or not.

good luck to ya,your gonna need it.

I'm pretty sure Seeds of Change is a "safe" company. The following is copy/pasted from THIS page from their website.

    "We Do Not Use GMOs
To be certified organic, we must prove and warrant the absence of any transgenic (i.e., the introduction of a gene or trait from one species into another unrelated species) germplasm in our source material and breeding program, as well the absence of any GMO material in the seed production, cleaning, storage, and shipment chain. We do not use GMO techniques in our breeding program, and we carefully isolate our seed production from possible GMO crops, we test all relevant seed for absence of GMOs and we control the entire chain from production to delivery to our customer. As we are 100% certified organic, our products are likewise certified to be free of GMOs."

Good luck! I ordered my seeds from rareseeds.com last week, and we had to go to our fourth-choice on several veggies because of sellouts! Victory gardens are making a comeback this year & it would seem that "everyone is doing it!"

that only makes them organic... i do not see anywhere in the statement off the site that they are indeed heirloom or open pollinated.. Unfortunately even though they may not be GMO it doesnt make them heirlooms.
Many sites do carry heirlooms but they generally have a symbol or a statement above or below in the seed descriptions saying which are heirloom and which are hybrids...

    organic doesnt mean heirloom.
but it is not necessary that the seeds be heirloom to collect seed from the plants, they just need to be "open-pollinated". its hybrids you want to avoid. any GMO seeds will be hybrids (not OP) and will not breed true.
of course, heirlooms are the most desirable because of their hardiness, etc.

the problem with hybrids and saving seeds is that after the first season of growing them the seeds revert back to one or the other of the mother varieties they were taken from.

the only way to keep hte hybrid a hybrid is to keep crossing the original two for several generations until they mutate into what it is you want them to be

Another suggestion as to where to get your seeds from is www.heirloomacresseeds.com They usually have really good prices on bulk seed if you grow a good sized garden. www.rareseeds.com has a larger selection. I usually get my seed from both.

If they told you that their seeds are guaranteed heirloom then I would go with that since you already have the seeds. It wouldn't hurt to save the seed and find out what you get next year.
