How do I get IN to the hippie culture? Ive always liked the music, The way hippies dress and their kind message of love and peace. It seems there are few people with that ideology today. How do I be a hippie and myself at the same time? :)

do what you love and love what you do. do whatever you want, express yourself, follow your heart.. reaaally follow it, separate yourself from doing what people want you to do and actually do what you feel to do ..as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else or anything.

Being a "hippie" isn't about using drugs or doing weird things with your hair or wearing a costume or being irresponsible; it's about using sometimes radical means to learn who you really are and utilizing that knowledge to live your life in a way that's productive to your own growth. And to do that you have to be awake.

Get some music from the 60s and dance to it. Get some books about hippies and read them. Grow your hair long and don't shave anything. Do some kind of art or music. Get some color and creativity in your clothes. Be nice to people and don't try to get them back for crappy things they do to you.

it seems like you feel your "self" is not hippie, by the way you asked the question.

pick up the parts you feel are worth living and do so.

Stop following the mob, start following yourself......i mean your true self not the someone you were told to be but the one you ought...

Be free, love the ones who show love and love more the ones who show none...

Love yourself and life, appreciate yourself and life, live for yourself by living for others. That is what I see the mark of a true hippie to be. Hippie is not a style, hippie is not a word, hippie is not a sterotype, hippie is nothing like what people today see it to be, hippie is Helper In Promoting Peaceful Individual Existence :)

Open yourself up man. let yourself be free. turn on, tune in, and drop out. be wild, be free, do what you desire to do. there is no true ''hippie acceptance''. society has got you thinking that a hippie requires certain personalities, but not at all. just open up, be yourself, drop out, and be as much as a non-conformist as possible. no one is here to change you, only you can change yourself. and if you TRULY believe in peace and love, that's great. but being a hippie is A LOT more than just being a pot smoking peace-loving nature freak. like i said before, just be yourself and do your own thing.

in my opinion, being a hippie just means that you are true to yourself on a higher level and you stick very strong to your beliefs in peace and love...getting "IN" as a hippie isn't exactly like an initiation into the culture, it's more how you feel inside.

Just work on yourself, and people will start to see changes. Like-minded people will be more drawn to you, over time. In humility, learn as much as you can about the core values of the movement, and be open and honest with everyone.

A person can never truly know who they are because they are always discovering new facts even about themselves as people. I've always believed that a person is who they aspire to be, and if you want to be a good, loving person who uses their intelligence to solve problems instead of violence then you are already there. The great thing about hippys old and new is that they DON'T fit a mold. They are beautiful caring people sculpted by their beliefs and willingness to stand up for those beliefs.

First you need to apply online at hippiesinc.com. They will process your application and get back to you in 5 to 10 business days.
