lol, I have had that kitty for about 6 years now... his name is Bob. =) He is purring *hi* to everyone. And chaos, thanks for the comments on my white hairs. I really like them too and hope they blend in nicely. Although as you can see, the white ones have a mind of their own and really do not abide to the law of any physics I'm familiar with.
kitty =] does kitty have locks? our long haired puss does, and we had to cut them off cause she wouldnt let us comb them, and we thought she'd lick the last bit out but she hasnt, so its a matted clump against her fur and it really needs shaving =/
Smelly - Kitty does have some dreadies, but in annoying places that are not visible. I try and cut them out for him cuz they start collecting everything, but he usually has two or three at any time. It's really tricky to cut them out though... we both have to be in the right mood. And on a dready note. I used a rosemary soak and rinsed with apple cider vinegar and finished with sea salt spray and my dreads have been more dreadier than they have ever been. I even have a new dread forming on the top of my head... only a few hairs, but there they are, all knotted in a very odd spot. Will leave them to be for now. Also, I have maybe 6 loopies in my hair now. Feels great to be seeing this kind of progress.
i feel like i should be doing something rosemary-esque... i only use bicarb & kboy twice a week.. as your dreads are just about younger than mine, would you recommend the acv rinse & sea salt? (i do put sea salt in with my bicarb wash actually)
In all honesty, I have no clue. It was the first time I had tried any of the herbal washes. I had been using the knottyboy bar and it just wasn't working well with my scalp. Using the rosemary and then acv rinse and then spraying in the sea salt spray and leaving it has left my hair super dready... the hairs just want to get sucked in a lot more it seems. :S The rosemary did smell nice. I went to a bonfire yesterday so going to do it again today to get the smell out. Let me know what you try.
I am about 20 days into my locks, and i make a rosemary rinse with tea tree and I use it after i was with dr bronners when they get a little itchy..So far It is a miracle for the itchies..its to early to tell how fat they will get..I can't wait until they fatten up.....I love your snowy hairs...only comes with wisdom..and it's a gift you can't get it in the salon....
Thee month dread update. =) Still only the webcam for pics but at least it was sunny out today. Helped a bit. About a week ago I finished one half of the underneath of my hair. In total it was four dreads and the other side will likely need 5 and then I am all finished. I tried T & R on them, but I can't get them to stay knotted so backcombed last week and it has stayed in for the most part. I'm loving my hair still... more and more all the time in fact.
Your dreads look good for their age, I like the white in them The same happened to my roots, just let it be, which you probably were, but just an extra warning. I crocheted it and I kinda regret it because it made some dreads look quite weird for 3 centimeters.
Thanks tassefras. I did crochet a few near the back. Actually, I had hubby try a few early on and they looked ok, but my mom did a few loose hairs a month ago and I hate the way those dreads look now.. she took a lot of hair and it's coming out in a big clump. :/ I'm just gonna leave it though. No more crocheting I don't think for me. I'm gonna leave all my funky roots funky. I just hope the hairs that have come loose get sucked back in. Thanks gonefishing... I'm enjoying them.
I have never noticed this thread b4 for some reason! I love the progress thus far! youre so cute daisy! And I too loooove the white hairs! Your dreadies are gonne be saweeeet!
your dreads look lovely, and yay for white hairs, I have them too (except I dyed mine for a long time so now the roots are all growing back white) good progress!
Thanks greenearthgirl. I haven't died my hair in 8 years I believe. I used to have it just about every different colour, but once the white started appearing I completely stopped. My mom has always died her hair because she's been predominantly white since her early twenties and even in her 50s she still has a "beautiful" reddy brown colour. It;s funny now when we're together cuz I have tons more white than her... hmm.... lol
