I've been sick since Tuesday. Fever, headache, a bad cough, zero energy and I even threw up on Thursday night. Yesterday I was feeling REALLY bad and getting concerned that I still had a fever, the only thing I can take to keep it down is tylenol and it wasnt really workin, so I started getting concerned that it might be affecting the baby. I called the doctor's office and spoke with one of the nurses, she said to go to labor and delivery in the hospital so they could put a fetal monitor and check everything was fine. We went when John got done work. I was feeling ultra shitty. I was glad we were going, I was really worried and now I know where maternity is and all that. So they put me in the fetal monitor. The nurse Sandy was super nice, she said I was getting contractions and asked me if I could feel them , I just said "What? I dont know, am I?". I was achy, but I just thought it was from the fever. She called the doctor over the phone and the doctor said to put an IV because I was probably very dehydrated from having fevers for long. I got two whole bags and the contractions that I never knew I had went away and Sophia's heartrate that was a little fast, went back to normal. And I feel much better now, still sick, but dont feel as bad and now Im not worried about Soph Soph anymore.
That's good. When are you due? I had bronchitis when I delivered my second. Labor really sucks when you can't breathe well to start with.
Im due on May 13th. I was happy to meet two of the nurses there and see they were nice people. And John was super nice and rubbed my hair while I got the IV because they always have an issue finding a good vein. They tried to do it on the right hand first and then another girl came to do it on my other hand. It still hurts
You should try to remember where your best veins are and direct them there to start with...I always give them my right arm, there is a big blue vein right there for the poking...
...sorry about all that...I'll tell you what I've through in the last month and a half in a thread when I get a little better... Right now - I'm just hiding under a rock when I can...
Thanks everyone! I dont think I've had another fever and if I did, it wasnt as bad, so staying hydrated wont be a problem, and John filled the fridge with all kinds of good drinks, so it's all good
Awww, sweetie, I'm just glad you're doing better. If I lived closer I'd be coming over and help take care of you, poor thing! Being sick in general sucks, but being sick and preggo is even worse.
Me too, being pregnant and sick is definitely no fun. But John is taking good care of me and now I just have a bad cough to get rid off.
