doesn't matter if you dig him or not, i was going to check my mail and it said they prison released a picture of him, he's 74 years old now & his next parole hearing is in 2012.
with a swastika on his forehead! i think if he was to get out in 2012 what a culture shock it would be, he's been in there for forty years the world has damn changeeedd!
Truly, the face of evil whether old or young with this particular countenance remaining rightfully and safely behind prison bars until the bitter end of his ultimate demise and thank heaven for this reality. The problem of evil is often looked upon as "out there somewhere" when, in reality, it is all within, inside maniac’s, sociopath’s and psychopath’s, but also within each of us too. When we see evil, specifically, within ourselves and fail to recognize and condemn it, then we set the stage for that evil to grow, to flourish and spread within ourselves and then out in the "real" world. We all know what is right and wrong about ourselves, yet how serious are we about confronting this evil, whether it shows itself in lying, judging, etc. and making efforts to get rid of it? Remember all of the German citizens who "looked the other way" and/or felt justified and comfortable in allowing Hitler to do many very "evil" things? They were good, upstanding, moral and even religious people and the German nation as a whole is still trying to make amends for these tragedies in their past. We all are "Charles Manson” if we allow our delusions, our pride and our unhealed hearts to get the better of us in our daily lives. Looking to the Divine, realizing what is truly good and right, clinging to it while fighting off what is wrong, is a never ending struggle. Those who win this battle overcome not only the evil within themselves, but become agents of good without. Peace to all... ps. It is important to note that as a very young kid, I remember my Mom on our way to visit my Aunt and driving past the Manson girls in downtown LA one sunny day outside the county superior courthouse and they simply creeped me out and gave the chills of which I will never forget in addition to my Mom telling me in a very sad voice that an evil man just did away with the hippy movement.
i'm sayin like if you were walking down the street i don't think you'd be like damn that's a hot old guy, you see bob dylan is hot, bruce springstein is sometimes hot, johnny cash was cute, but charles manson just isn't in there. i think he looks a lot better then in 69
Keep in mind that evil can be deceiving both in appearance and the spoken word and it is wise to beware. Actually, he was given a trial. One of the most lengthy and most expensive in the history of California. Also, it is important to note that he has cost the taxpayers of this state some additional $500,000.00 to keep he safely behind bars, eating three meals a day and watching a boob tube for leisure pleasure. This is not something that was afforded to Sharon Tate and her unborn child and it was a travesty of justice that this monster was not simply executed for his crimes.
HOW does this add to the convo?? Why post this? When i see this kind of thing I always think of the site rules about posts that dont contribute to the discussion
I agree with you completely Samson and believe it is important to illustrate that his use of an urban teenager colloquialism, in addition to his original post which I am inserting in this context, is truly indicative of an uniformed and immature mind. How very sad... I firmly believe that if enough of the younger generation are of this poor of a caliber, then the future for them and everyone else is bleak at best and outright dire at worse. If we forget or misinterpret the past, then we are truly destined to repeat the same mistakes. "JNature" original response post, replace later with simply "meh", and I quote... Begin Quote. "He wasnt given a trial....at all....people like Gasey and Daumer got a trial and they brutally raped and ate their victims, so why not him? Manson was somewhat of a Martyr to make an example of. The government should not be able to deny a person his rights." End quote. Fact: Manson and all his co-conspirators were all found guilty of first degree murder unanimously by a jury in a court of law. It is my firm belief that none of them should ever be released and it is obvious after all these years, that the California Parole Board feels the same way too. If only JNature spent more time studying history, then perhaps he could accurately contribute more effectively and productively to his future and that of his friends, family and everyone else in this world. Peace to all...
What actually makes Manson evil? I mean there are plenty of people in the world who think about doing the sort of things he did, they just don't do them, how does that make them any less evil? I have often thought of doing the sort of things serial killers are most renowned for, but I don't. Does that make me evil?
No, you are not evil for having those thoughts, only if you act them out in reality and I refer you back to my earlier quote: "We all are "Charles Manson” if we allow our delusions, our pride and our unhealed hearts to get the better of us in our daily lives. Looking to the Divine, realizing what is truly good and right, clinging to it while fighting off what is wrong, is a never ending struggle. Those who win this battle overcome not only the evil within themselves, but become agents of good without." Keep in mind, that the dark side of the human soul has a proclivity towards violence, yet it is our civilized nature, a sense of conscience and the rule of law which keeps us for driving ourselves to extinction by our own hands. I find nothing more revolting than reading about Sharon Tate begging for the life of the child inside her womb, only to be told "I don't care about you or your child, b.tch and then being brutally murdered. I don't believe any normal person, including you, would murder anyone, most especially a pregnant woman pleading for her child's life. Personally, if I had been present at this horrid scene, they would have had to kill me first before they ever had a chance to hurt her in anyway.
Charles Manson has spent the majority of his life, even before the murders that he is now in prison for, incarcerated. He does not want to be paroled, and did not attend his last parole hearing. Prison is his home and it's where he feels he belongs. http://6thingstoconsider.com/2008/11/12/charles-manson-an-incarcerated-life/
He's still got those deep and slightly creepy eyes even though he does now look like somebody's grandpa...no offense to all the lovely grandpa's out there
I also believe that we have that "evil" inside us. It is what we choose to do that makes us who we are. As for me I just have to believe that there is goodness in all of us, their are just a few that choose to let that "evil" take over their lives. Hopefully...... Very interesting discussion though. Blessings
for me the creepiest current aspect of Charlie isnt him in prison, or even out of it. Its the fact that when they busted the Family there was a whole batch of kids that were likely fathered by Charlie. Those kids are now adults, running around in their 40s with the Manson genes.
Indeed, that is a creepy thought - some of them could be here right now........it could be you, or even you! There's a bit of family history i'd never want to know about, and i'm sure those kids were never told while growing up - wouldn't that be a trip to find out you were one of manson's kids while going through your deceased parents' stuff to settle their estate? creeee-P!
