    Bendiciones,
I've noticed alot of confusion regarding ayahuasca here, and just wanted to give people an opportunity to ask questions and get legit answers.

I've been to the Peruvian Amazon 4 time, totaling 7 months ... drank with various ayahusceros. I've also cooked the medicine dozens of times. I'm still learning, growing.. but I also felt compelled to be a resource for those genuinely on the quest.

Ask thee here, any questions regarding ayahuasca, and I will do my best to answer from my personal experience.

    Bendiciones y paz

I have a question... How come for ayahuasca, you all use the plants. How come just using the dmt and putting it in a capsule and using a pharmaceutical MAOI or passionflower extract wouldnt work? Because that would be a hell of alot easier.

I think that the reason for the brew is because it is easier than extracting DMT if it's something you just want to do a few times.

Plus the brew is more traditional, as well as bringing the purge, which some people believe is part of the trip.

So, DMT in capsules+a MAOI would work, but its not quite the same.

It's still good .. I would recommend bringing it up to a boil and then cooling it again before drinking.

Because the tradition of ayahuasca is not about an "experience" so much as it is a healing tool and a translator for the spirit world. (AYA - meaning dead or spirit, and HUASCA - meaning vine).
In the Amazon the vine is referred to as the power (the cave) and the leaf, or DMT agent as the light (the torch in the cave). The emphasis for the ayahuasca path is on the ayahuasca vine itself, not on the DMT .. the ayahuasca is the power, the teacher, the guide ... and the leaf, light, dmt allows you to see what the vine teaches.
And the vine is an amazing teacher, on its own.

i'm gonna make some aya soon. Oh interesting, I always thought that it was 5-meo-dmt that was in the plant, not n,n.

I promise to myself here and now that I will drink this in the traditional style. The purge will be welcomed. Then if I choose, I can just order some DMT whenever.
