They don't tax anyone if you don't have health insurance, they offer a TAX BREAK if you do. That's what Anderson Cooper said anyway.
I heart the military's health insurance. No co-pay for ANYTHING. not even perscriptions. Have you thought of joining?
I think it's going to end up being just like Mass., big tax incentives if you have it. There is a lot more poverty here than other countries realize. I never saw it until i moved here. People living in delapadated trailers with the windows busted out, living under the freeways etc. There is no way I see us paying for everyone who can't afford it. I want to move to where you are! Minus the cold and all. You guys are pretty damn civil and caring.
I am so scared...Andy gets awesome refunds and I have always owed. I really don't want his tax refund to go towards paying mine again...he didn't care too much last year, but we also weren't moving last year, had almost 0 debt and a lot of disposable income. The economy sucks man. What sucks worse is being 'stuck' and not being able to apply for a job or work more hours at my current one or go to school or do anything new. I am just complatley forced to be stagnant (stagnant is the worst feeling in the world for me). I feel like I have no power to manuver around the economy until we move. yep, it sucks. I don't complain abotu the economy a lot because I should be thankful that Andy has a good paying job and if we cut back will always make enough to pay the bills, but it sucks that he has to change his lifestyle because I dropped the ball. anywho, that was long. I needed to get it out though. I try not to complain too much in real life.
I've got no problem with the military, but taking a dangerous job for heath insurance is insane and retarded.
You can do what you want in it though. If Fitz wants to be a firefighter he can, while getting health insurance, college money and college courses paid for while he's in. Plus, he went to military college, so he would most likely be able to enlist at a higher rank (maybe an E-3). It doesn't have to be dangerous. He's smart enough to go into the Airforce or Navy.
All I am saying. Fitzy= smart, amiable, at times charming, handsome. He deserves everything he wants in life and more and not to worry about taxes. love you Fitz HUGS
Yes, there are other things to do in the military. I simply said taking a dangerous job for health insurance was nuts. And Fitzy is smart, but I don't think you really need to be smart to join the air force. If you can keep from drooling on yourself during the ASVAB much of the military will offer you anything you want..
You should feel lucky that you can even go and get state sponsored health insurance. In florida things are so bad that there is a huge waiting list for our state sponsored insurance. So for now I'm s.o.l
The airforce is the most selective of the group. I don't know man...all that electrical engeneering shit my husband always has to study...I just can't wrap my head around it. I wouldn't discount it the way you do. A lot of people work really hard protecting you.
Fact. They['ll offer it to you, but keeping it and maintaining periodic promotions takes brains. It's not like the army where they give you a stripe just for being there. You have to earn it, and it's a combination of booksmarts, time in grade, time in service, awards and decorations and physical fitness. It ain't easy. And Navy fireman is more likely to get you killed than combat engineer.
Time for the US to join the rest of the civilized world and have socialized(superior medical care) medicine. The very concept of relying on "insurance" , insurance companies or whether they have a job for medical care is insane.
That's how it works in Western Europe and Australia etc.--only difference is they do NOT have to join the military for it.
I think it should be that way if you're a child, unable to work or recently got laid off and are falling on hard times. If you are perfectly able and have gone without insurance for awhile, I don't want to pay for you, sorry. Why should I have to pay for anyone else because they don't feel like working hard? Like I said before, if they are unable or just having hard times, I have no problem footing the bill. In the end we all make choices.
It's even worse now because their downsizing. Andy's worried abotu not being able to re-enlist in 4 years (ie-no retirement or medical for us if that happens). He's losing weight and studying all that math stuff and doing what he needs to do, but it's not as easy as everyone seems to think! Thanks for sticking up for our military!
