its cause im using aol, so i dont see things full screen, and it was just your eyes, just looking at me, so intense i would use it, but im on a shared comp.. might freak out the famz =]
If i saw you in the street and came up to you and told you the thoughts running through my head when i see you, i would get a slap in the face or worse! If you were single amy, I would swim to norway.... injured shoulder or not....
Always with the nice words Phil...thank-you. I'm sure I'd be a huge disappointment though so it's probably just as well I'm married and the sea is vast and cold Heh..just thought of this: "When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed"...
fabulous! It was already said, but I'll agree that the color looks great with your skin tone and eye color!
beautiful Amy! I feel like I know your hair better than mine now, you take such detailed shots. I love exploring through them ^.^ who was your dread inspiration?
Sweet stuff, am liking them a lot. Your dreads looking great at 9 months. Curiosity kills the cat in many cases, and I am no cat. Do you "maintain" in any away? if you do, share your secrets :grouphug: please mines too, except for a dash of honey color.
I haven't had any maintenance routine for several months now. I started my dreads with a DHHQ dreadkit, and was doing the the full accelerator, Lock Peppa, palm-roll, wax routine for almost three months. I then dropped all the products but continued to palm-roll whilst my dreads were damp. I did quite a lot of root-rubbing in the early months, which does help while the dreads are maturing, but once they're tight and knotty it doesn't seem to be necessary, so I also haven't done that for months and months. I still did a quick bit of post-wash palm-rolling, maybe once a fortnight until a couple of months ago. One big change I noticed was that it became possible to go to bed with damp dreads without them turning into crazy shapes by the next morning. I've never felt that hairs sticking out of the dreads were a problem, but I did grow quite a frizz-halo in the form of new baby hairs coming from the scalp. They've now had two tidying sessions, where I use a largish needle to thread them up inside the dreads, which works really well - better than crochet in my opinion because I always find that a hook pulls at least some hairs back out with it. Luxie: glad you appreciate the detail shots I try to take plenty of informative pics as well as self-indulgent ones
Happy 9 month birthday Amy! Your dreads are looking shit-hot hun, and the colour of them is beautiful.
Thx & :cheers2: for the very informative post! It makes sense that a threading needle would do a better job, because the one time i messed with a crochet needle it indeed was pulling a bit of hair from inside the dread. and giving them some of my dreads "bumps". Maybe, just maybe when you are tons bored one day make a tutorial on how to thread with a needle. Just an idea
Amy your dreads are very similar in texture to mine especially when I was 9 months along. (I need to update mine on here soon. Currently 14 months.) The roots and everything looked a lot like mine. I followed the dreadhead maintenance routine too for like 5 months except I only waxed twice. I now do zero maintenance except rip. Mine are about 2-3 inches longer than yours and you said you think the next few inches will make the world of a difference, and I totally agree. It sucks not being able to get them out of your face. I am currently waiting for my front ones and the ones in the front part of my head to grow long enough to fit in my ponytail....that will make th world of a difference to me. But I guess that would explain why they look so similar. I am sure similar hair type combined with similar methods will result in similar results. Except one thing for sure...mine aren't purplish and pink. They look great. Keep it up and I love the photos.
I found this too. I really thought the area around the band was more significantly locked than any other part of the dread. Would only leave them in a maximum of two weeks.
