On Monday a federal judge ordered the FDA to make Plan B (morning after birth control pill) available without prescription to women as young as 17. Apparently the judge decided that the FDA bowed down to political pressure from the Bush administration when it set its 18 age limit. This is a step forward in reproductive rights!

That's the spirit! However I don't think we will see that for awhile... But if it's something you feel strongly about, check out some organizations that are for the movement of reproductive rights. Join them, volunteer for them. We have to actually do something to get things done! =)

This is a good step.. I mean, the situation is very different here in the UK, anyone can get free birth control from a clinic or doctor, as young as 13 or 14.
Furthermore, doctor's don't have the right to tell parents, although some do take it as they'll inform them unless specifically asked not to..

I hope you both are appreciative of those rights you have regarding birth control in your country. It is an on going battle here. Mainly due to religious beliefs. Apparently separation of church and state doesn't exist

    Oh believeme I am :D
I'm a bloke, but I appreciate the fact that if 'accidents' happen I won't get slapped with a paternity suit

It's very ironic - Britain is nominally Christian but functionally secular, and America is nominally secular but functionally Christian :p
