is it just to play with yourself or to reach that orgasm?

my question is, is it still considered masturbation when you play with yourself and stop before reaching that orgasm?

yeah your playing with yourself. but the point of it i think is to cum. only reason i'd do it in the first place.

No one watches the best movie in the world only to stop watching just before the epic climax that has everyone else in awe.

What a philosophical question. It's like asking if a tree falls in a forest with no one around to hear it, did it really make a sound.

Unborn babies have often been observed masturbating while still in the womb. At this stage they obvoiusly have absolutely no knowledge of what sex is all about, but they have already instinctively found that this is something that can give pleasurable feelings.

Clearly, whilst in the womb it can never lead to orgasm, yet it is still officially considered, in medical circles, as masturbation.

If you stare at your dick too long, it's masturbation.

1766, from Mod.L. masturbationem, from L. masturbatus, pp. of masturbari, altered (probably by influence of turbare "to stir up") from *manstuprare, from manu, abl. of manus "hand" (see manual) + stuprare "defile" (oneself), from stuprum "defilement, dishonor," related to stupere "to be stunned, stupefied" (see stupid). Earlier Onanism (q.v.). The verb masturbate is first recorded 1857.
    AND
erotic stimulation especially of one's own genitalorgans commonly resulting in orgasm and achieved by manual or other bodily contact exclusive of sexual intercourse, by instrumental manipulation, occasionally by sexual fantasies, or by variouscombinations of these agencies called also onanism, self-abuse Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary, © 2002 Merriam-Webster, Inc.
Take your choice. I vote for "to orgasm.."
Maybe we should coin a new word, now that is no longer considered abuse, or palmhair growing. I love the British, "wank, wanking; wanker -ess; wankable; and wankcitible." It's their language!:cheers2: :cheers2: I guess I think that once my hand starts moving, I'm masturbating!;)
