I last saw Weasel inthe mid 80' as I was hitching to Eugene from SF. We were on the northern edge of Cloverdale about dusk in front of the store when a VW wagon with guns sticking out of every windof pull up and someone yelled "Ranger we're goin' huntin'. The house is just yonder under the bridge. Feed the dog in the morning!" It was Weasel!

Larry (red hair, was Ron Lamberg's right hand man) I last saw at Simple Pleasures Cafe in SF where he and Shirly stopped to grab a bite after taking in a movie at the theater down the streett. That was about 5/6 years ago.

Tim and I painted houses for the GE Paint Company that was managed by Capricorn Leonard (he was an ex-marine). I remember we painted a victorian on Oak Street down from the GE Oak Street house. We used scoffolding with ropes and pulleys. Goldie Hawn was filming a movie in SF and they were shooting a car driving scene on Oak. The crew used to stop in front of the house we were painting and give us the thumbs up! Goldie said hi to us and told us we were doing a great job!

I would like to introduce myself to all that may not reconise me. I'm NAILCAKES!!! I lived at Underhouse for 4 yrs. It was the only house I lived in at Good Earth. In fact I was living there, but taking a vacation up in Ash Vally where our country based family was. I was in Oregon and couldnt get down to SF to get my walfare check, so I ask one of the sisters if they would cash it for me and bring the $$ when they came.

When she got up to Oregon, she told me she got roipped off for my money on the bus by a black guy. Funny how he just took my walfare money and not hers. Me n my boy had no means of support for a month. You lied and there was a witteness. My friend Rita was with you and told me the truth. Rita is also here in the forums, if you would like varifacation.

I can take getting fucked over, but when you fuck with my babies, I'll take you down. We had a little meeting about you CASS and that is why I am making it clear that You are Not to be Trusted, so that you can not cause any harm in here. Be warned ppl.

This was not the only dasterdly deed she done either. She messed up the books when she had her hands on them, missing money, she blew the rent money on herself and had to be rescured time and time again by other family member so everyone would not lose their homes.

She stole from her brothers and sisters with no consciounce, she took the food out of babies mouths to buy coke with. I should of beat her ass when she done it, but I didnt, she thought I was gonna and so did several others. But they urged me not to. I try not to hold grudges but when someone does potential harm to your child, you never forget it, ever.

So the is for you CASS. I know we all make mistakes and some of us were addicted, but to steal from your family is NOT and never has been cool. I hope you have grown in your womanhood and realized the error of your ways. I hope you know what you did was SO wrong that your victems never forgot what you did to them or the family.

I really dont see a place for you here, not in my living room, not after what you did to me and my boy, not after what you did to my family. We dont need no rip off bitches in here. So Sorry, but you done it to yourself with your BullShit. I am not making a place for you to come in and maybe hurt someone else.

I usually dont hold 40 yr grudges. but in your case I'll make an exception.

    Sincerly.
NailCakes, The Bitch You Ripped Off.

    I'll second that!!!
While I can't recall you ripping off me or the Nasties directly there was more than once we paid the rent on Cole St. House to keep things going after your little stunts! The rent for Cole St. wasn't the only thing that you fucked up, maybe you remember the food co-op on Hays? You made your bed, enjoy!

Sorry for the rant family, That one was a long time coming. It gained momento as the yrs rolled by. I meant for it to come out a little different but that is how it worked it's way to the top. Some hurts last a life time, as you see this one did.

There are things in life that stumble us, there are things that happen to us that helps us grow. Ones that look down their nose at you for yrs, thinking themselves better, more Uber Cool, while the whole time they are ripping you off, smiling to your face while stabbing you in the back.

Anyone that steals a Mothers welfare check is the lowest type of human animal that ever crawled on their belly, esp by someone you called sista. But I am not gonna bring it up again, unless I have to.

Other than that all is well in the Kingdom.

Jimmy Painter didnt hang with Cheyril, Shills had her for a very short time at Underhouse. She was a New York mother fucker I think, I thought at first she be STP, but after thinging on it I believe it was Mother Fuckers.

Cheryil hung with Little Annie Fannie and later her ( cheryils) ole man came down from NY to get her, his name was Frankie. Annie was hooked up with Chuck Mother Fucker and Cheryil, Annie Fanie and the boys moved over ta upper clayton. Cheryil had a baby, I think that was in 76/77. That was the last time I saw any of my family from the Haight or San Francisco.

I have had a couple of reunions since then. First Ranger and Rita came to see me, then Diane ( shills diane) came and then low n behold Shills himself rode through in a big rig headed for Dallas. I guess I'm pretty far out here in the boondocks for many to stop by on their travels. But the ones that have stopped and lingered a little brought Me home. If you know what I mean.

Like being here with all of you. It helped heal old wounds and brought back the majick that we shared that healed us and made us strong. It was a bond that united our very souls, we were one for all and all for one.

I should apologise to Cass tho. I know we have all done things in our past that we would not do now. That hurt that I carried so long came out like it went in, bad. So I ask for my family's indulgence and understanding. I am actually thankful I had this opportunity to get rid of it. It was getting heavy to keep carring around.

At the time it happened it was never negociated so it sat inside my feelings box, where I keep all my hurts and would knaw at me from time to time. I do not feel I have the right to keep anyone way from the ones that cared for them and they cared for. That is not what The Garden is about.

Some of us were concerned that Cass would still be in the same mindset she was back then and may be capable of bringing further harm to The Family. I let it get personal bc it happen to me personaly.

Now that it is out of me, I can say, I'm sorry Cass, we all make mistakes, I have made my share and I hope I can be forgiven for my shortcomings as I must forgive you for yours, now that I have closure I think I'm able to get over it and overlook the small scar it left. It just blends in with the others.

    Humbly

    Dearest Nails;

Never be sorry for sharing your feeligns; especially those that, if kept inside, curdle and make you bitter.

More importantly, it's good to remember that along with all the good times there were some ugly times and evil deeds (some thoughtless and some just plain bad). From many diverse backgrounds, we were trying to build our Eden. Sometimes we forgot even Eden had its snake. What is sometimes wierd is that you could be friends with someone and not know what they might have done to hurt others. I remember Cass but not about her problems. Then again, the only finances I dealt with were in organizing the daily family communal dinners at Oak Street. I also remember certain persons living high on the hog with money from family enterprises (which shall also remain nameless); enjoying fancy meals and trips to the baths etc.

Hopefully we became better persons because we learned form the good and the bad. Speaking only for myself the fact that there was more good than bad is made evident by my having kept my meoroies of that time alive.

Love to all my family where ever you are

That was very nice Zev, you said it good. I know I sometimes take things too personal, but to me it is personal and I cant help myself. So, I have to find my humility so I dont become cynical in my old age, which is approaching rapidly. :O

I just found this and am so happy to relive those great years on the Haight... No one will remember me because I only stayed at the white house for a few days on a number of occasions and lived with Rockbottom for a small amount of time on Page street. He will remember me from the time we went to see a Bruce Lee movie down on Market street (my first Bruce Lee movie.. Rock knew about Bruce Lee but I had never heard of him at the time.) I helped him move Crazy Richard out of the house on Page street (Richard was a Mentally offset person that claimed to know Ken Kesey and the Pranksters but I fear he was just more crazy than anything). I also knew Whitey (how could anyone miss a tall skinny albino that looked like Johnny Winter) and he and I spent a lot of time at the restaraunt at the end of Haight across from the Park. (I think it might have been called "Tiny's" but had been a Bob's Big Boy from the Big Boy Sign on the Pole out front. I also Have memories of Keniah, a Native American Woman I met at the house and was the guy who chased down a Black guy that was stealing something from the House on lower Cole street (on the corner of Oak) and had to chase him for 3 blocks before he ran out of air and the rest of the people from the house caught up to us....

The people in that house were always kind to me and let me stay there when I was in the City.. I used to help by taking the kids to Golden Gate Park to the swings and stuff at the petting Zoo they had there or over to Panhandle Park to play on the swings there.. The only stuff I was ale to do on the temporary status I had with the Commune.. I always wished I had gotten to know you all better but I was just a kid then ( every bit of 20 years old, 18 the first time I met any of you)..

You all were the second time I had any experience with a communal setting, the first being with the 3'rd Eye Commune that owned the 3rd Eye Book Store ( some of you may remember them) and met you through Boston Bob of the 3rd Eye when we went to your house once to bring some food Items.... I was a regular standing in front of the Fish and Chips owned by Old Dave (an Englishman who owned it along with his wife) and was next to the Chinese store with the old fat Chinese guy that ran that ( I think you or someone mentioned him before and remember how he would always watch everyone real closely and you could see him looking into the mirror behind the register to see what any long haired folk were doing in his store..

I remember one night in the Trading post when they had someone playing music there ( I believe the band was called "Indecent" , honest that was the name they had) and another time I remember that while I was staying at the house a person there asked me if I wanted to go see "Osceola" play in Marin and we all loaded into a bus and went to Marin to see them and "StoneGround" play and we all went back stage and smoked our brains out. Someone had some Opiated Hash and after smoking it I went out front to watch the Band and Past out.. I woke up to one of the House members shaking me and saying the concert was over. Missed the whole thing.. hehehe.. god that was some good hash for a 20 year old to smoke..

These are just a few of the memories that have NOT disintegrated from my BRAIN over the 37 years since then... I have since had to give up all drugs due to health problems. I remember those days fondly and must say that I owe a lot of my outlook even to this day to you people.. the good times (and even the bad times) were a part of my history that you shared and I will NEVER EVER forget you all for the kindness shown me in a time of my life when I was a mostly confused and entirely lost kid who needed big brothers and sisters to help me find my way..

Now I am an artist working with my computer making pictures that are colored by those days and influenced a lot by the experiences I had in the Haight. I own a house in Santa Cruz (my my I didn't get very far away) and have a terrrific mate and a beautiful child that often asks her old Dad about his "Hippy Days" and is absolutely fascinated by his tales of the Good Earth and those times long past in the Haight Ashbury... of which you all are a large part of... May God look upon you all with favor and a twinkle in his (or Her) eye, knowing that you all meant well and were only trying to do what you knew was right and righteous with the time you have been alloted on this planet which is indeed the "Good Earth".. Bless you Sister..

Hello--I came to the house with Kaniah--She had a little girl--and we stayed on cole--You can look at my pictures and see if you remember me--(havent aged a bit) ha!!-you definitely were there when I was--I got pretty screwed up after that--and ended up with health problems too--so Im a straight ace now--just grateful for everyday I am alive. Those were the grandest days werent they? I remeber a bunch of really strung out dudes living downstairs on Cole--One of them died from heroin overdose while I was there--Found him in the park sitting with his head in his lap--Used to go get leftover food from fish n chips--and remeber those bus rides to see bands etc--Good talking to you--Peace-

Phew just caught up reading the posts. Cakes I truly hope that you are now ok with the past. I think someone after "the rant" mentioned that venting of the memory made it better. Maybe that was your post! I hope so.

I also hope that all from back then, the GOOD BAD AND UGLY have been able to move on into today and make life for themselves or for someone else a tad bit better.

If we always hold on to the bad and bitter we will just die unhappy and that is EVERYONE of us. NONE of us is Jesus!!! lol But I also can relate to haveing the memory of the especially bad trip laid on me/us by a brother, sister, or even ourself that we just carry with the weight of life. If we can shed one or two of these weights tho and even forgive OR MAYBE JUST FORGET the karma wheel moves with less friction.

But of course that is just the way I have decided to deal with energy that was sometimes just BAD and made no sense as to why would he, she, or they do such a crushing thing at the time.

This is a GOOD place that you put up Cakes and it carrys the vibes of good white light. I know we can all also relate stories of the BAD and UGLY in a white light way of a "story" when we write it here. AND those who were the cause of the BAD and UGLY will know who they are! If they have made it this far chances are they have done something good or they are hiding in the old cave in the back of PEACEFUL VALLEY or hiding in the Sangre De Cristos hiding from the world!!

From the days of of giving freely, to street watch with guns, to the days of the white powder scurge, a lot of people did good , alot did bad and a lot did a bit of both! WHITE LIGHT and WHITE MAGIC BABY!!!

That is how I have TRIED to decribe it ALL to my three BOYS who were actually there a babies. They know there was bad shit but I have tried to make sure that they know that shit sandwiches taste real bad so it is better not to use that as an ingrediant in food of life. BUT hey that is just me!

    Peace and love

Hey! I thought I would check in to let ya'll know that I'm still checking the posts here. We've been getting our home ready to put on the market (you know that funky real estate market that's in the tank right now). We want to move to the country and start doing some serious farming / gardening.

    Peace
