I am almost 5 months in and I have a ton of loose hairs. Is there any tricks to get them dreaded? I like hoe the dreads themselves look but the fly aways drive me crazy. Thanks much. :D

You can crochet them back in.. But everything you try will just be temporary. I just let my dreads suck em up. Aloe Vera tames frizzies too as a less harsh alternative to crocheting.

    WSS^^ :)
For the love of fuck don't be a retard and cut them like me! I am now suffering with a mini fringe and a mohawk that resembles Mr.T during his younger days.

Hello :) If they're long enough, thread them through a nice big darning needle, poke it in at the base of your dread and feed it up through inside the dread. This is what I do sometimes, it gets the hairs securely inside the dread really quickly, without any disruption, and they generally stay in place. The roots will feel a bit tight for a day or so until some movement has loosened them up again a bit. Hope that made sense. I find using a needle like this much easier than a crochet hook, which always seems to drag at least one hair back out of the dread with it.

YES!!! Most of my loose hairs are at the tips. I think it is from having really long hair to start out with. I don't know though. I thought of cutting them (the loose hair not dreads) but I would think my dreads would feel prickly. I would be cactus head! :D

i have loose hair all over the place... and actually the majority of it IS attached to a dread.... there are loose hairs sticking out mostly around the loopy parts.... i kinda like it... but then a bit of a fly away thing happening on my right side at the temples that's been driving me slightly bonkers.... oh well.... love em' or loose em' and i'm not ready to change the pants yet!

Well, assuming I gave the thing the correct name (which I very possibly didn't) the object I was refering to looks just like a regular sewing needle, only bigger. Like maybe 5cm long and with an eye big enough to thread a little clump of hair through without going insane first :p

Ok a darning needle to cross the dreads

then you'll need this (it's better to pass the loose hair through the needle eye

This would be the result... intead of the fiber, the hair

    I'll try this. Thanks Amy

Let those loose hairs be free

If you were a loose hair would you want your freedom taken away
