I started neglecting about a month ago.

I'm on the track team in Gunni so I do rigorous workouts every day. Of course my hair gets all saturated with sweat. Right now I rinse about every day and wash with residue free about every three days. My hair's looking a little oily but it is starting to clump together a little. Here are some pics to give you an idea...

I was wondering if anyone had some sound advice for me, people who sweat a lot in general and how that affects the dreading process. Some feedback on my progress would be nice too considering I'm not sure how they should look at this point. Thanks!

you'll have to get a GOOD answer from someone else...cause i dont have one...

but with your hair being *fairly* short, and of course straight like that, it'll prolly take a little while before they really start to dread up...im sure you're prolly right at where you should be so far...

as far as sweat...it wont hurt anything im pretty sure...in fact, i know sea-salt helps the dreading process (right?...ok maybe i dont "know"...i think ) so i would imagine that sweat (which has salt in it) would help more than hinder

my hair seems kinda similar to yours, i have been going natural for 5 1/2 months, i also rinse everyday due to workouts and wash with soap every 2-3 days..

my hair is over 6 inches now and I have 5-6 noticeable dreadlike clumps, the first ones didn't show up for 2-3 months..so your on the right track, if you really want them just be patient, the length of the hair is key

word im going the same as you enayes i play basketball regularly and i just rinse and shake my hair out and thats pretty much it.... the only thing im ight ad is to the original poster maybe use some sea salt casue you hair seems rather textureless( not sure if thats a word) it helps a ton at least in my experience with it it did, so yea other than that you are off to a solid start, hair wil get less oily the more you get used to washing it less too

i agree with them the length is what matters most at this point
your getting close to the right length, and your getting alittle of the building blocks taken care of b4 u get there..clumping beginnings of knots and all, but ya probly wont see any actual dreadstill your near the 6 inch mark (guessin biut 2 more) the sweat istnt gonna hurt u in fact should help as long as it doesnt come with oiliness too if so use a lil thyme to help reduce that
