Saw a different doctor today who wrote me two scripts for generic oxycodone. One is 60 10mg Oxy ER. The other is 60 5mg Oxy IR. I'd prefer not to get these filled at my same pharmacy and with health insurance, because I am sure that it will raise questions that I don't have answers to. These were prescribed as a different course of treatment, but not one that is going to stay in effect. I told the MD my story (previously told here) about my disastrous attempt at entering a pain management clinic and he just wrote the scripts. My normal script is (per week) 21 20mg Oxy ER, 42 5mg Oxy IR and 42 10/325 Hydro. The normal script is much preferable to what he wrote.

Still, it would be nice to establish a decent reserve, just in case there is ever a blip in my scripts from the MD's. However, if I take these new ones to the same pharmacy, they are going to wonder if there is a different course of treatment, which would then cause more problems when I take the usual scripts in at the end of next week. Also, my health insurance was complaining that I picked up a Lyrica (a schedule 5 drug) refill a day early. I am sure they will be even less pleased if I am picking up Oxy scripts written by a couple different doctors and with different dosage amounts in a two week span.

So, what can/should I do? I had this script written to an old address, but it is still the same name and DOB. Can I just go to a different pharmacy chain, present them and pay out of pocket? What is the out of pocket cost for that level of generic oxycodone?

If you go to say walgreens, then just go to one different like rite aide.
Also 10mg oxy er I think I paid like 50 bucks for 30 of them
The 5mg ir I paid 28 bucks for 80 of them and 19.68 for 60 of them
    Thats if your paying cash
Oh, and I've done this a few times in the last 9 months with my surgeon and PM doc. you will be alright. just don't do it to often. cause the DEA can and will see if your doctor shopping, Which is what your doing whether you think so or not. Be carefull

Thank you very much. I don't plan on this being an every month (or even every three month) type of thing. I'd just feel like a wuss if I had the scripts and didn't try to pick them up.
