What do u think of those anti-drug commercials?

Have you seen those American anti-pot commercials....

my fukin god man.... its like the 50's all over again... like those

black and white ads that say "Your dope fiend can be found in street corners,

getting high and waiting to mug you"...

its depressing to see those ads....

 

ive already posted how much i hate those damn ones wher ethey get scanned at the super market sayin that the worker thinks they are a pothead but none of them look like they get high AT ALL

yeah on this stupid soap on at the moment theres a little sub plot about a stoner kid an the stuff he does has nothing to do with weed or bein high! like he skips school, bullys people, an is generaly not a nice person. an there tryin to make it out that the weed has done this to him!!! fuckin rediculous

I like the one where a group of kids are playing videogames and shooting some pool, then one of them says "break out that weed, man." But there's a note from the guy's mom in his stash box. WTF. Those kids were just hanging out, having fun, they weren't doing anything shady. That doesn't make me think marijuana is bad at all. Those commercials are fucking stupid. Where are the commercials showing the bad things about alcohol? All I see are beer ads that show how much fun it is to drink. Where are the ads that show how much fun it is to smoke?

 

now that would actually be a commercial worth watchin!

maybe i should start auditionin for 1 of the stoner parts? lol

 

i hate that one ad where there is a kid yelling to his parent saying "i'm not staying for my little brothers b-day!!!" and stuff like that, and the little kid is there sitting watching... and then it says " u will never remember the ones u hurt when u where high" fuck man... that kid looked like he was drunk!!! not fukin HIGH!!! all lies, lies lies lies lies

 

I dont really watch much tv never have and i especially never watch the ads but i can remember one anti-drug ad from a while back which was about heroin which i actually liked and agreed with because the story was true.Ive known good friends who have went the way the ad describes.How im remembering it may not be entirely correct so if anyone remembers better then feel free to correct me but anyway it goes like this, To begin with its a sociable teenager and he's with some "mates" and they offer him some smack then it shows u all the same scenes from both sides. On one side it shows you him sayin no and his mates basicly shrug him off on the other side of the screen it shows you him sayin yeah go for it and his mates give him some.The next scene the guy is his in his bedroom listenin to music and his dad comes in askin what he's got and he says oh its my new cd i just got and in his room thers a hi-fi and a tv, games console all the normal sort of shit.On the left side of the screen the guy is sittin in the same room only he's only got his bed.The next scene is in the hallway at the front door and on side one the guy is standinnext to all the jackets hung on the wall he grabs his jacket and his dad comes out a room and asks where he's goin and the guy says somethin like goin to play football or goin out with mates then they say their goodbyes and off he goes.On side 2 the guy is in the pocket of his dads jacket and his dad walks out and catches him and says hey what do you think your doin just as the guy quickly goes out the front door sayin he never done anythin.The next scene the guy is sittin down with his horrible scabby clothes on the side of the street and side one guy is walkin along with his mates in his nice presentable clothes and side 2 guy asks "any spare change mate" then side 1 guy gives him it side 2 guy thanks him then the ad ends. Like i said im not sure if what ive wrote is exactly acurate (sp?) to how the ad went but its mostly correct but ive never forgotten about that advert.

 

yeah thats pretty accurate, i saw that add too an yeah its a pretty powerful add. so dont do heroin! smoke weed........lol

 

Man.... all them commercials are so stupid, i really wanna know where they found their statistics on kids watching their sisters and they're stoned and she drowns, or the smokers that run over the girl on the bike at the mcdonalds drive thru. and then the scanning one, its just annoying, they play it way too often.

Those commercials are fucking retarted... Like most of the time anyone gets hurt from someone being high, it's only because being high is illegal, therefore it's the government causing the problems... And those ones about people getting in wrecks high, I'd like to here the statistics of people getting in wrecks high THAT AREN'T ALSO ON OTHER DRUGS/ALCOHAL. Such fucking bullshit propoganda.

 

i find the one where the girl is just watching her friend drown rather funny cause the captions like 'if your friend was drowning youd help them wouldnt you?' well yeah of course youd help them thetyre drowning ~ drowning and smoking up are quite different if my friend was drowning id help em but if they were smoking up id probably be smoking up with em
smoking cigarettes is more damaging to your health than smoking weed where are the anti cigarette commercials?

i know stoners look different but on those commercials the kids just look so clean cut and nerdy if i really wanted to achieve the effect of the cashier thinkin they stone i woulda put them in a traditional stereotype stoner outfit..ya know? when they make them cleancut and shit it just makes the commercial stupid and all of us stoners say man that was dumb!

i say we all chip in and start making pro-marijuana commercials or anti smoking and anti alcohol commercials!

 

No one will air them.

the media always tellig us what is good and what is bad... I'm sick of it, I wonder if I am the only one that notices this things...

 

The weed ones are so stupid that I just look past them. It is too unfair to try to rationalize weed being that dangerous..... b/c it's not. What bothers me are the other ones- like the one where the girl is sitting in math class and her nose starts to bleed everywhere. When that happens to you it's kinda scary. I don't think those commercials are really to keep kids off drugs, it's to make them realize when they are out of control.
Although, I just don't buy the weed commercials. It's mostly where the kid gets grounded for smoking or they miss basketball practice or something. Big fuckin deal.

 

More commercials about alkyhol abuse. Ha. Wonder how all those 'anti-drug' parents would react when their sacred thing is attacked. Thing is that yeah most of those commercials are pretty lame. C'mon. Mom puts a note in the stash box. Somebody else pulls out their secret stash from their pocket, out comes the four footer. heh.

 

well actually here in australia tehre are anti alchohol and cigarette adds.
well tehre were.. lots during the late 90's and early naughties. but ive not seen any for a while, though some anti weed adds have come up in the last year, along with increased reference in films.

 

ye theve done lots of anti alcohol an ciggrette stuff here in the uk and practically no anti-cannabis adds, probably cause every1 smokes weed here lol. My favourite add, well it was a poster, is of a picture of a lunch box with fags, heroin needles, spliffs, tablets, an other stuff; an every time me an my mates go past one of the posters i say sumthin like, i wish my mum made me packlunches like that! lol

 

lol oh yeah an another thing i saw in school was this like drama play about the dangers of drivin. an the guy said, i dont take drugs to keep me entertained, i just like to drive fast.... an at the end of the play he dies in a car crash.

so the morral of the story is....take drugs
