Sucks that you had problems with wax. What kind did you use if you don't mind asking? Also, you or a friend should be able to crochet your hair no problem, free of charge. It's not complicated.
Thanks pretty! I am in the same phase... obsessive! Not that amount of time but trying to find who can make some miracles to make them look neat!
I never did much to the roots, I have very fine hair (but a lot of it) and the roots generally took care of themselves. I palm rolled to keep the loose hairs tamed and to get the round look that I love. Worked great for me - especially since I was in college and got to do it while reading! Right now my hair is a little longer than mid back.
I like the tidy look to my dreads, I understand that some people do not, but I don't judge! I feel like you are judging and attacking me for the look that I want to achieve again. The neat rounded look that I got with my first set was what I wanted, not me "obsessing over perfection" - it was the look that I wanted when I originally started them, but just sucked that they were mainly wax and caused skin issues for me. I would like my second set crocheted since they are neat to begin with and mature to look pretty much exactly as my previous set did (I've met quite a few people who have had them made in this method because I sought them out). They don't unravel or anything... they are just created in a different method to achieve the same result. I do appreciate you offering to put me in contact with your friend! However, the twist and rip method isn't what I am look ing for. Regardless, thank you - it's awesome!
I used Knotty Boy stuff. I don't doubt that one of my buds could make them, it's just getting them to do it - which they don't have the time and/or patience to do.
your old dreadies looked awesome! Hope they come back just as good for you. I just finished crocheting my tips and they looking fucking sweet
ok heres a couple, shit quality camera just on my phone, probably not even good enough quality for you to see the crocheting. But a good 3cm of my tips use to be really stringy and barely dreaded. Il delete this post if you want because its probably gonna flood your thread with huge pics, no idea how big they are gonna be heh. Not sure if you were under the impression i crocheted my entire hair from scratch last night, but i didnt, i was just doing the tips. peace
nice! you did a really great job. how long did it take overall to do the tips? that was a joke referring to certain silly ideas that crocheting causes horrible damage to locks and makes them fall off. apparently some people have such ideas and voice them continually, disregarding the contrary proof that is laid in front of them at every turn.
thanks. I spent about 3 hours overall maybe 4, but that included a bit of time crocheting some loose hair around the roots/middle parts too.
