it was a cinematic comic book, that does not mean it was a good movie. the acting, especially in scenes between nite owl and Rorschach were stiff, when they were in archie's basement, it was like they were reading the comic book.

the ending demanded the squid, that deviation was fucking stupid

Ozy is supposed to be the smartest man on earth, it would be idiotic for him to use doc manhattan. it's too easy for people to get over that, it's too easy for it to be spun into myth. with the squid there would be biological samples sitting under high security for centuries, reminding us that aliens were coming for us.

and, with the genetically engineered horror that was the squid thing it was easier to see what moore was trying to say with the piece

half the people in the theater I went to missed the point, listening to their conversations leaving, it was fucking painful.

it was not true to the comics, although, it was an INCREDIBLY close interpretation, there needed to be smoking, and, lets be honest, the MPAA is going soft lately, that would not have been R ten years ago, it would have been NC-17 and parents might have actually hesitated to bring their kids (theater I was in had a shit ton of kids, from four years old up through thirteen year olds, it was fucked up, just for the amount of violence in the film.)

I was going to see it because I love suspense and action films, but I cannot watch violence, especially on that size of screen. I didnt realize it was supposed to be very violent.

well, i never read the GN, though i probably will get it now. i have heard mixed reviews, and i am picky about movies, but frankly, i loved it. i thought it was a great social commentary and the character development was good. i really didn't expect it to be so gripping and epic, so i was pleasantly surprised.

I was a bit disappointed. The third act just drew on forever. The moral dilemma placed on the genuis character seemed really forced. He seemed more pretentious psychopath than a genius. Rorschach was cool. I didn't feel like Manhattan thought over killing him too much.

I'd give it a b for an action movie. And that's on the gift of the fact that it was completely visually breathtaking. That's obviously where Zack Snyders talent lies. Can't sculpt anything more than wooden performances, but he does have a cinematic genuis. Like 300.

That's weird. A regular admission price for the big theatres here is $10.95.

    Matinees are $5.

I did love "I don't think there is a god. But if there was he'd be nothing like me."

And yeah, again, Rorschach was bomb diggity.

Great direction, it wasn't anything like I was expecting, then again I didn't really know what to expect. they showed this campy masked superheroes, but yet you take them seriously, it was much deeper and more complex than I thought it was. I liked the dialogue between Dr. Manhatten and Silk Spectre 2 on mars.

On a side not, did anyone find the scene where the comedian was about to rape the silk specrte strangely hot? Like I said in the other topic though, we could've done with less blue glowing penis. Especially that scene where you see 3 at one time!
