Action Alert- Tent State - An alternative University

If you've never heard of Tent State I highly suggest you check out their website www.tentstate.com. Tent State is an "alternative university" started by Rutgers Students to protest high tution costs and budget cuts. For one week in April students and community organizers camp out and run this "alternative universtiy". Every year they cut funding for universities calling it a "budget crisis". Yet, every year billions of dollars goes into funding wars and the military. Tent State VII is coming up this april at Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, NJ. The specific dates are April 25- May 1. It is going to be amazing. I am definatly going to be there and anyone else interested should show up. If you plan on camping out be sure to sign up on the website. If dont have a tent you should still come by and check it out, its going to be amazing. That is spectacular! These students, these organizations that worked together to create this deserve to be commended. I'm thoroughly impressed. We need more universities, more people to make a stand against the ridiculous costs required for going to school. Where I am, we've sent letters to our various senators talking about the high costs for tuition but, we need this type of active approach.
