I call everybody sir and mam. From little kids to old ladies. Not all the time every time, but frequently. So, no it doesn't bother me.
Hello yeah, It makes me feel weird. Here in the South, most men say ma'am. Its better if they call me miss. Its still uber weird, since I still feel 17.
ive gotten ma'amed a few times, and i always laugh when i do. just find it hilarious. never been called madame, except a couple times jokingly by my mom (cuz shes a weirdo)
It always makes me feel a lot older then what I am, I hate it, I'm going through a pre mid life crisis I believe, haha. I call people that at work all the time, but most of those people are Southern, old, or both.
I was once called 'little madam' by this guy working at a servo with a fake english accent, but other than that, nahh
I get called mam on occasion from the young things at the grocery store. It's nice in way because I feel like it's respectful, yet on the other hand, I'm thinking...gosh I feel old. But then I get the kids that look barely over 18 asking me for my ID when I buy beer. Hmmm.
