Chunky Glass Pipes Billing

    I ordered 2 incredible bubs from CGP last year (2 separate orders) and had no problem either time. I even spoke to Greg who recommended my favorite Planetary Frit, which I ended up ordering. Now, I live in NYC where there are headshops every few blocks and I can tell you that most of the pieces in these shops don't come anywhere NEAR the quality/ originality or price of what comes from CGP. Unless of course you want to pay close to $700 for an Illadelph...

    However, a couple of weeks ago I decided to place an for order a bigger piece and for a phenominal price. But this time around I am really disappointed - I just finished writing an email asking my order to be canceled due to lack of ANY response whatsoever. I read the response (on this board) as to them being busy but even so, consumers deserve better than being ignored. What does it take to throw up a little note on your sites explaining that you're a little backed up and orders might take longer than usual. Hell, change you're voicemail to say something regarding this - SOMETHING.

    They didn't charge my CC unlike others claim, but I did request faster shipping and each time I check the status of my order it still says "4-7 days..." and I placed it about 2 weeks ago. All I'm saying is to do is just show a little gesture that you actually care about the customer and let us all know (collectively) that youre a bit slowed up and I think you'd see more renewed faith in people trashing your business.

    I wanted my piece much sooner, so now I was forced to pay out the ass for a mediocre piece in NYC

    . I hope to order again when I can actually get through and speak to someone or even get 1 response to an email like I had received the first 2 times I purchased from them last year.

    also, I forgot to mention that this order was actually for Northwest glass art - but I'm under the impression he runs both sites.

    I ordered some stuff on 2/17/09 and got it on 02/23/09...quality..fast ship. didn't even pay extra! No COMMUNICATION but I got em and I'm happy! I want to place a larger order but I dont wanna pull my luck!

    I placed an order on the 26th, got a confirmation email the next day. I hope I'm as lucky as barnez09. :)

    did y'all order from the chynkyglasspipes.com website or northwestart.com? I know its the same business or whatever, but I ordered mine through the chunky website! i dont know, maybe it makes a difference...doubt it, but I'm still curious!

    I just received a response from Rob over at NWGA (I BELIEVE they are the same company just at diff locations??). He was really nice about it and basically said they've been swamped on top of all the snow they got hit with - I forgot about that- my buddy lives over there and was saying they like had no plows for the entire city.

    So ye- I will definitely order from them again later this year. Anyone reading all the negative stuff about them stealing money etc - it's all BS. They never charged my card. Sad thing is if I could have waited another day or two my order probably would have shipped. I was being rather impatient... I was just a little annoyed that I wasn't getting any responses- no hard feelings though, they are cool in my book again. Anyone that's ordered from them knows the deal you're getting for that quality.

    Sweet, update already. It's been four days since I placed my initial order, and I just got my tracking number, so that means my shipment's been confirmed!

    Three or four more days, and it'll be on my doorstep. Not a long wait at all, for me. :)

    Here's a ballbuster:

    I ordered on 2/5/09. I had read on this forum that they are generally slow, and unable to keep to the promises on their website, so I decided to just let some time pass before complaining. Sure enough, I got an email on the 18th confirming shipment. However, something went wrong with my shipping address... the package was sent back by my local post office because it was "undeliverable as addressed". I talked to the people at the post office, and all they could tell me was that I would have to contact the sender. So I sent out two emails.... first on 2/23, then on 2/26. No response. I sent an angry email a few minutes ago to them requesting response regarding the status of my order (which was CHARGED when they shipped it). I sent it 4 times, from 4 different email addresses, to ensure that they received it, in case my address was being relegated to the spam folder.

    Thus far, I am extremely unhappy with my experience with CGP. Just like all of you, I have had absolutely no communication despite explicitly requesting a response.

    I am not quite ready to write them off, let's see if they respond to my quadruple-barrage of emails. I am perfectly willing to sit and wait, but the status of my order is totally unknown to me... Obviously, since they already shipped it, it is probably out of their normal "routine". However, this upsets me even more... I have PAID for a service which I don't know if I'll receive or not. If I got notification that it would be 3 months, I would be fine with waiting. However, I have not received a single peep back from them, which just makes me think that they are laughing their way to the bank with my $70, and have no intention of honoring the order because I have already paid.

    Alright, full scale:

    2/26/09 - Ordered 10" Water Pipe off of Chunky Glass Pipes. Received a confirmation email, confirming my order, and informing me that my order will be shipped in four to seven days.
    3/02/09 - Received email stating that my order has been shipped, using USPS 3-5 day shipping.
    3/06/09 - Four days later, it sat happily in my mailbox. Sadly, the product was a different color than I specified, but I'm not complaining. It looks great regardless!

    The product rocks, and waiting about a week for a quality product for that cheap of a price is totally worth it.

    Also, yesterday I emailed CGP, asking when an out-of-stock bubbler would be back in. They replied in two minutes with an answer.

    I give Chunky Glass Pipes 4.5 out of 5-- -.5 for the color thing.

    Yeah i got an email from greg too recently....i had already recieved my stuff, but I guess its cool that they still were concerned...I got my eye on their pistol grip piece, but its kinda large and expensive($100)...and i am worried that it will either not get shipped or break in the shippin process....i dunno...i might risk it and order it...

    has anyone ordered large pieces recently?

    I ordered from this place in mid December, it took until January 20th for them to ship the order. From late Dec. until the time the order was shipped I tried numerous times to cancel my order by phone (voicemail always full) and email (never responded back). I didn't even open the box because I could hear the glass was shattered. I sent it back and waited for my money to be returned, and I waited and waited and waited. Finally in February I actually got a hold of someone and they said they were mailing me a money order for about $145.00. It is now March 14th and I have received nothing from these crooks. BEWARE of CHUNKY GLASS PIPES and NORTHWEST GLASS ART they WILL rip you off! I am now going to take legal action against this company. Please do not order from them unless you like to give your money away. I placed an order with EDIT and had no problems at all.

    UPDATE:

    my original post told how there was an error in the address of my shipment.

    Well, the package finally arrived today, a week after a representative of northwest glass called me to confirm the correct address. Total time since order: 1 month, 2 weeks.

    If you're having trouble getting in contact with Chunky, try calling/emailing Northwest Glass instead. Although I don't know the exact technical relationship between the two, I think the 2 different websites are just different outlets for the same company, or at least for the same manufacturer. I ordered through chunky, but northwest contacted me for the error.

    So if you want good quality glass for a decent price, go for it... but beware that it could take at least a month for your order to arrive, and don't expect any modicum of customer service. Their version of customer service is to get your order to you eventually. They don't give a shit about keeping the customer aware of the status of their order.

    Well I got an email from ty today at CGP, here is what is said: "your order says it was shipped what is the problem and if you want a refund please send the items back ty". Are these people f-ing kidding! They got my order returned to them back in early February. They even called to say they were sending a refund. WTF!! A bunch of scumbag crooks. DO NOT ORDER FROM CHUNKY GLASS PIPES!

    So I ordered another bubbler and chillum. Took about 6 days total to get to my house after placing the order.

    Once again, one of my peices was a different color. But I like it good enough.

    Chill out Trout, the person who sent that email to you is new. Please email us again and explain that you already sent it back. I promise you will receive your refund.

    Thats the neature of the beast. Imagine if you were the glass-blower. Would you want to do the EXACT same thing every time? Just the way it goes...

    Our customer service and out processing time is much improved. We have Rob and Ben working for us about two months now, and they're doing a great job! Thanks Guys! We're getting nothing but positive reviews since they came on board. There was only two of us for the longest time and we were simply overwhelmed by the sheer number of order's we received...Yes, we purchased Northwest Two years ago. Last I heard its not a crime to own two business. No insult intended :)

    Again please relax, you have not been ripped off. You have my gaurantee your money order will go out today, Monday, March 23rd, 2009. I am very sorry this happened. I wont make an excuse because there is none, if its as you say, it's simply unacceptable. I will even send you something free for all your troubles.
