it use 2b spiderman until the newer batman movies came begins is great and the dark knight might b the best movie ever made spidey is just 2nd next to the man but the spiderman movies are far better than the 80's batman
I agree, the Spider-Man series was easily the best comic book/superhero series to come along until Christopher Nolan revamped the Batman franchise with Batman Begins. Since Nolan came along, I can't think of a single superhero franchise that comes close to it's quality, though Raimi's Spider-Man movies are still a close second (with the exception of the last one).
none of those are the "best" movie ever made. most serious movie buffs agree hands down, that the seventh seal is the best movie ever made. the seventh seal is a great movie yet, i would not claim it the only "best" movie ever made. both the batman and spiderman movies are pure hollywood corporate shit. bob kane, the creator of batman, hated all the batman movies and, the television program too. he loved the first two batman movies that, tim burton directed. as kane himself stated, those two movies were the closest to what he (kane) created back in the late 1920's and early 1930's. i like batman over spiderman any day. the reason for that, is the darkness that surrounds the batman. one last thing. kane himself stated, his ideal for batman came from when he was 13 years old, in 1926 when, he first saw the slient movie the bat.
Even before TDK came out the batman series had the edge with Batman Begins. The first 2 spidey flicks were good but not on par with BB. TDK only upped the ownage. I don't think that Bob Kane's opinions matter much, though. The biggest comic book characters have been shaped by perhaps dozens of writers since their creation (Spiderman and Batman definitely included). Popular perception of most superheroes is nothing like that of their creators. The new Batman series takes a lot of cues from The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller in particular. It's the only Batman comic I've read so I don't claim to be an expert on the evolution of the character, but if most people have now seen Batman in the dark style of Nolan's movies, in my opinion that's his reality now.
I think they're pretty different characters, and Batman is probably a lot more interesting... so it's easier to make a film about Batman. Which is probably why there are so many movies about Batman. To tell the truth, Nolan's Batman, while satisfying, was pretty obvious when you think about it. Raimi, on the other hand, managed to make some pretty compelling feel-good films that also took chances in their own little ways. And I think he made his Spider-man interesting. On the other hand, the first two original Superman movies are perfect.
