Ugh, what should I do?

Okay, while removing some loose hairs around my dreads, I accidentally cut one off...I didn't think it was noticeable, but because of all the hair I took off, and the dread, there's an obvious bald patch in the bottom of my hair line. :(

Should I wait until the hair grows back and then back-comb it?

Yes, because it looks better without having, as a friend put it, "Dreadlocks with an afro on top".

awww sorry man! I think all you can do is wait for it to grow back. You could back comb it or let it dread naturally as it grows. is it that noticeable? It could be more in your head than anything else. Post pics if you can.

just let it grow, man. what other choice do you have? besides, most people probably can't even notice it. I had an actual bald spot on my head, due to stress or something, and not a soul mentioned it. Even if they did notice it, they didn't have the balls to say anything.

Is it just me or would it not be counterproductive to cut loose hairs when trying to grow dreadlocks?

Hell yes I know it is, all those loose hairs that you cut off would have been getting sucked into the other dreads, cutting them off is the last thing you want to be doing. I remember recently there was a guy on knottylocks who had been doing the same thing, and then was complaining that his dreads were getting really thin at the roots

If you want to stop the birds nest going on on the top of your head then crochet, dreadball those loose hairs in, do whatever you need to do, man waxing them would probably be better than cutting them off. Cutting those hairs off is about the worst thing to do to them they are your future dreads :)

    oh god
dreadlocks and cutting hair 2 oposite philosophies

how nmany mistakes are u gonna make because you listen to idiot freinds? u hsave great locks u hate cause they hate em u chop off your dreads because they dont like a lil frizxz fuck your frteinds
    dstop listening to them
dont cut the hair thats just dumb

the frixzz ..or afro as u call it is meant to be there..it adds hair to existing dreads, ir becomes new baby dreads and ..it protects the scalp from ssunbburn (and skin cancer) leave it alone and ignore your dumbassed freinds

this freind..does he know anything at all about dreads?
