Ive been vegan for about 12 years and only recently got into raw foods for about 8 months, which is to me like this totally exciting and fun journey and totally wild :D

    Anyone else into the raw??:piggy:

thinking about going raw... been vegan for a few years now. they health problems i'm having as of lately would really improve if i did eat more raw foods.

    i'm still researching the idea.

We both researched it, tried it, and found the whole completely raw thing wasnt for us. We do however still keep up a really high percentage of raw foods, especially fruits and salad, and I love it:)

Unfortunately its quite difficult to find decent info sometimes, as the whole area is swarming with people spreading bull and weird photoshopped pics just to try and sell their stuff (I suppose like everything then:rolleyes: )
But there really is something in it. People generally should definitely be eating more raw foods imo

i love, love love love looooove raw foods...

i enjoy vegan foods: raw foods, vegan chocolate, vegan pancakes, you know the drill
but i stick with being a vego ..i used to be vegan for about, two months: didn't feel 'me' exactly but vegetarianism seems right. but note, i get my eggs from friend's chicken's buttholes or 'cage-free eggs' though i question just cause it's 'cage-free' i wonder if they are still squashed into tiny barns and suffocate each other. and i drink soy milk

I love raw, always makes you feel good when eating a fresh veg or fruit :) When i first decided to stop eating meat i went raw vegan right away for two+ weeks and got myself pretty sick, so i settled with starting with vegetarianism *now vegan in the making* i don't know if i'll ever go raw permanently but I'm all for experimenting with my diet in that direction.

We eat a lot of raw foods during the warmer months - something about cold weather makes me change my mind every year though.

    (mama's a vegetarian, living in an omni-household)

I am a vegetarian. I have been transitioning to a mostly raw diet. My endurance has gone way up. And I dropped 30 lbs.

i've been looking into raw foodism for years now, pretty much since i went veggie. it sounds like the health benefits never end, but buying a dehydrator/juicer/a million other kitchen appliances really doesn't work with me. every raw foodie i've talked to has said it totally reshaped their lives, so it is very appealing.

count me in. I still eat the occasion cooked rice with lots of fresh veggies. I am about 90 % raw now. I do suggest doing a master cleanse bfore embarking into raw food, it rashapes your tastebuds and and allows the transition to be smoother. After five days without food, your obdy changes dramatically, some may have to do more than that maybe even less. I do not crave cheese, eggs, meatjust smells horrible and tastes just as bad, wheat taste horrible , though a nice basmati with a whole host of different cxolored veggies (i try to make my plate a rainbow), it gets stomached emmaculately.....fruits and nut I eat raw all the time.

Restults - Ive lost wieght like Ive never been able to, my stamina is shot to higher levels than ever before, my energy level dropped, due to b12 and protien defficiency. I will start eating some clamms (they are supper charged with b12. 100 gr has 1600 % daily of b12 and since b12 stores, its a perfect alternative to an expensive supplement considering that these life forms have like no sensations of pain and are by no means as close to feeling empathy for others, much less their family memebers. To mee my rotein requirements, lentil sprouts couple with sunfflower seed of pumpkin seed, is imperative, for a complete protien. Now that I had some squid the other day, I can say that this raw food diet is amazing. BTW squid is poacked with b12 as well and protien, which I needed.

I also warn against raw food diets that do not incorporate some heavy animal protein such as squid or clams cuz they have low protein and obviously b12 and our body needs. This is relative however, I am an idnvidiaul who has a family histroy of being bulky and sinceprotein to repair the damage that electro magnetic fields, my body needs moe protein than it can get. However, I am pleased to say that just a small portion of cooked quid quickly sautayed in oil, with lemon and garlic, by itself(this is a must) has given me that energy that you get, not withstanding the amazing energy bonuses that raw diets have.

So for vegans with b12 defficneincy, think again when supplementing, the b12 ias from an animal and it would be better to simply pay less fo supplementation by buying some anbimal protein rich in b12 for once every two - four weeks. The benefits are substaintial.

Eventually when I live off the energy grids I imagine I will only eat salmond or musccles from a local lake like once a year, to replensih my b12 levels, remember b12 stores for up to five years in the body, just cuz raw food feels amazing at first, it doesnt mean that you are getting complete propr nutrition. b12 is a very important nutrient.

Hey so any good raw veggie recipes?

    I have one -

    Nut pate in suchini boats.

    Ingredients
    some small tended zuchinis
almonds, lemon, tamari or soy sauce, cilantro, garlic, dash of olive oil.

Blend all ingredients. Cut the veg. in hafl, cut a part of the core out, to make it like a canoe and fill it with the nut patte, this is an excceelent 'on the go' type meal, when coupled with fruits that have alot fo insoluble fiber and veggies like carrots or some good greens.
