Barefoot in a video game

As to the graphics... it's a MMORPG!!! None of them have good grapics, aside from that shithole money sink known as EQ2. WoW is made by blizzard. They want a game anyone can play, one you don't have to sit around with for hours memorizing combos so you can beat your lame ass friends at the arcade**cough**StreetFighter**cough**. Also, you don't know what system dan is running. He might have it on the lowest settings. Oopps, I forgot, you're a dumbass. Quit being such a damn troll(no pun intended) You're 44 for god's sake, go get a fucking job.

At least arcades are more or less social. MMORPG player base is primarily constituted of psychotic overweight loners, half of which pretend to be female and the other half begs them for "nude pix". Which kind are you?

I'm not going to get involved in this debate about what games are "cool" and what games aren't. But I am playing a demo for an MMO called Guild Wars that's different from anything else out there, and I think that you'd be hard pressed to say the graphics on this game suck. Oh, and you can play the game barefoot (on in your underwear if you're really brave!).

It's "diffrent" from all other MMO's because it's not an MMO... It's an online role play game.... but it's not an MMO (sorry, minor point, but a very important one).

As for Guild Wars.. I'm also in the preview thing.... but i'm just not feeling it....

 

Well I guess its a matter of semantics....MMO standing for massively multiplayer online, which it is all of those things. It's just not what people typically "associate" with that acronym. To each their own.

I am digging it, primarily because I am into the Diablo-type gameplay.

 

yeah, it's all instances. I did'nt like it too much. D was good though.

 

Now THAT's what I'm talking about. Someone at least bothered to cook a decent engine. Nice screenshots; looks kind of like Lineage 2, does it not?

EDIT: Tried it. Still trying to pick up my jaw from the floor because of the visuals. God, why does it have to be a multiplayer-only game.

(Astaroth sulks and goes back into his dark corner to wait for the next Elder Scrolls game).

 

Hi Guys,

Not only can you have the main character barefoot, but in some neighbourhoods you see barefoot guys and girls in nothing more than swimming costumes. Its a great game anyway but being barefoot friendly makes it that bit more entertaining.

part of the reason for "crappy looking" graphics is poly count. the higher the poly count goes, the slower the game will play .. even with a fast computer if the poly count is really high it will bog down with lots of characters in a scene.

I do 3D graphics as a hobby, using Cinema4D, and having a "high resolution character" with low poly count is the holy grail of 3D graphics.

 

I've said this before, and i'll say it again.. it's not about high rez or smooth textures.. it's about style... and WoW is OOZING style. If you don't like WoW graphics... fair enough... that's up to you.... But I think they are great...

 

I don't want to hijack the theme of the thread too much except to add:

I didn't say I didn't like the graphics of WoW. I do. It's got a cartoony, fun style that's very unique. It's not my particular cup of tea, but I recognize the artistry there and it's the style that Blizzard is known for.

But for gameplay, I just don't see that WoW is doing anything radically new or different with the genre. But I know for some people that's exactly what they like about it, because they believe if it ain't broke, don't fix it. So as I said before to each their own. I don't subscribe to any MMO's because they've never been worth a monthly fee to me, which is what attracted me to Guild Wars.

And I just got GTA:SA and immediately went home and took off CJ's shoes to play barefoot. Now I would like it even better if I could play as a hot barefoot chick instead of a gangsta wannabe. LOL

 

The main idea and style behind WoW is the same a lot of other MMORPGs... the diffrence is that Blizzard have done it RIGHT! It's hard to explain how so, but it's all of the little things that Blizzard have done, such as how leveling works, the fact you can quest for the entire game (no need for mindless leveling), the way tradeskills are handled... death... items... etc.. everything has been brought togther to create (IMO) the perfect MMORPG. I'll be the first to admit that WoW is not a next generation MMORPG (in terms of development), but it is the best MMORPG is this generation.

I have a friend that has been playing him in nothing but his underpants... but that's because he's a bit of a weird asshole like that.

i found a torrent do download the french version on the emule networks...its been out for weeks... same thing with the new GTA I had it a couple weeks ago...
