I went to the headshop yesterday to get a new bowl. She had some vaporizers I was looking at. They were made by California Vapor Co. She also said they were backed by the Kottonmouth Kings or something like that. But my question is has anyone had any experience with these vaporizers. Is it worth $100 or should I buy from another company. Thanks.
Not that brand. I have a Vapir One V5. Got it on ebay for 150. Came with balloon kit and other goodies. I like it. Had for over 3 months with no problems.
Just because they are backed by a person/people means nothing. There's plenty of shit products that get endorsements by famous people. I took a quick look on their website and they just look like simple box vapes. Two of my friends have digital box vapes (not sure of the brand) that they got on Ebay for under $100. I think a little time spent on Ebay could get you a better vape for the same or less.
They look to be worth 100. the site doesn't say much about what kind of heating element they use. I wouldn't buy a vape with a metal heating element. Also they don't offer a warranty, which you can get from other companies.
just go an buy a Volcano. i got one off of ebay a couple of years ago for $400 and every time i use it i think, "worth every fuckin' penny." for how efficiently you can get high, it's worth the investment. consider this, too: you can get high FIVE TIMES over from the same weed. 1) vaporize once - doesnt take all that much herb and you will be ultra baked. compare the same amount out of a regular pipe or something. the Volcano wins every time. 2) cook with the vaporized remains - save all the weed you put through it until you have about an ounce. not as strong as using regular weed, but you still get very noticeably high 3) re-vaporize - if you're hard up for weed, you can re-vaporize with your remains you're savin' to cook with. doesnt taste all that great, but you will notice a difference and be higher than you could by smokin' pipe resin or something. 4) smoke the resin - on and around certain parts of the valve and accessories, a resin builds up that can be scraped and then smeared on weed. kinda like "poor man's hash." and it's nothing like smoking pipe resin. this is actually pleasant and gets you high in a way that i really can't describe because it's really not like anything else. if anything it's similar to hash. remember, nothing is being burned, so this is just THC resin. 5) smoke kief - since you should be using a grinder with a vaporizer, use/invest in one that has a kief collector. it's kief that you wouldnt have otherwise and can add your normal smoking. but i've only vaporized with it a couple of times. there's usually no need to go that far, *lol*... and on top of that all, it really doesnt take very much to get you beyond stoned. I usually cant handle more than a bag to myself (reynolds brand turkey-sized oven bag).
volcano is still a great vape, but its been surpassed in quality, technology, and price. The extreme vaporizer is a much better vaporizer http://www.arizer.com/
Wow, is that really better than a Volcano for $300? The only vape I ever smoked out of was a Volcano and I was fucking out of my body, highest I've ever been and we split a gram of exotic between 3 people. Truly amazing, and if this is better than a Volcan
For the price, yes the Extreme is better bang for the buck, but I would give the volcano the slight edge in quality of vapor. With that being said, no way could I justify the extra cost of the volcano for minimal vapor gains over the Extreme.
dang... i'll actually admit that that thing looks pretty cool. for the price, i think it's a good deal. but i wont be running out to get one any time soon since i already have the Volcano... i guess i'd have to use one to be totally sure. the remote is a nice touch, too. as well as all the different uses it can serve.
I have had my extreme for a year, highly recommend it. It's fucked right now though...somehow something melted onto the element and I had to pull off the screen that protects the element. They have great customer service though...I emailed them about this and within 10 minutes there was a reply explaining how to fix it (which I haven't had the chance to yet) and noting that I can send it to them for a repair price of $50 which is reasonable.
I have to disagree. With the extreme you can choose the fan speed, and digitally set the temperature. You can choose the quality of vapor you get. With the volcano you have only one fan speed and you have to guess the temperature.
Actually the newer model of the volcano has a digital display but it takes 3 minutes to warm up, whereas the extreme can reach 300 Celsius in under a minute (which is far hotter then ever needed).
Well, from my experiences I have gotten better vapor from the Volcano for whatever reason. But like I said, it was a very minuscule difference to even consider paying the ridiculous asking price for a Volcano.
in the manual that comes with the Volcano, it has a diagram of the correlating temperature to the numbers on the dial. i never use that as a guide, just trial and error to find my preference the temperature (which was only the first couple of times using the thing). and the fan speed doesnt really matter with the ballon/bag because you're just filling it up and then taking hits off of that. i do like the fact that with the bag you can pass it around whereas with other vaporizers you have to go up to the unit to hit it. it's nice that arizer has both options, though.
Volcano...totally. The digital model is more costly, but for the techno folks-its cool. The analog is just as effective. The Volcano is tried & true. years of experience, often copied - never duplicated. Storz & Bickle have a good repair/maintenance parts program and you can find them (maint. kits) on eBay as well... Ya get what ya pay for. buy an imitation, and you have just that - an imitation.:cheers2:
