It's been a week and i used some aloe gel in my hair to keep some of them from joining. Thing is I don't like the residue that's left and how they feel, so I think I'm going to wash them with in the next week. ( even tho i was told to wait a month so they don't all fall apart) SO my question is do i just wash my scalp with soap and rinse my dreads or do i wash it all?

    :cheers2:

I personally run my soap bar lather covered hands all over my dreads till they feel clean, and try to massage my scalp if I can be bothered :) Works for me lol.

I guess just whatever really, some will say washing the scalp is the most important and you should try to wash out all of the soap.

I did what I used to do with my normal hair cus I had no idea how to do it with dreads, and it just felt right keeping on doing it if that makes sense xD

I love your sig pic btw, I've already got my labret pierced but am considering getting the top bit of my lip pierced with a circular barbell xD I love circular barbells lol.

But yea just do whatever feels right for you, impotant thing is that you're washing 'em ^^ I don't think it really matters hOw you wash them :)

Wash them whenever they feel like they need it. When they're babies, just make sure you lather up your scalp and be gentle with your dreadlings. The shampoo will run through them as you rinse, and make sure you rinse well.

Thank you. I had my labret done first, actually my lip pierced. I took it out and after it healed it got my vertical done. I like it much better than the labret/ lip ring.

I grab my dr.b bar and make my head essential covered in white soapy foam. Then rub in and wash out really good.

when i used soap, i just applied it to my scalp, massaged my scalp (which i think is important) and rinsed. you dont have to worry about washing the dreads themselves, just let the soap run through them as you rinse.
be nice and gentle with baby dreadlings, just rub around the roots with your fingertips.
i do a deep clean every two or three months and thats when my actual locks get thoroughly cleaned.
