yea mists of avalon was awesome..that 5th sacred thing sopunds alot like a book ive been playing around with the idea of writting but had a lil more to it..prolly never would get around to writting it anyway so glad someone wrote something simular

greatato. if ya do read barefoot in the head..just a lil warning..after the 1st chapter the main charachters .. wwell the basics of the story..hes a missionary going to help casualties after america and europe goes to war with the arabs and the arabs build a psychodelic bomb that bombs the 2 continents into a post psychodelic stoned age so they trip more heavily the rest of theyre lives..after chapter 1 the main charachter gets affected..and the language will no longer be what your used to..words can be conglomerates of many words..sentences can sorta stumble along searching for semi coherent words to paint aw proper picture..and i remember vagukly 1 long run on sentence that was 3 pages long..
its chaotic nonsence that makes perfect sence if you dont read the words themselves just drift through the colorful thought patterns behind the words
its simply the most bizzare book ever
and its really interesting just how much sence it makes

its beyond interesting..the title says it all itss like walkinmg barefoot through the mind of a madman whos taken far too much lsd or something its like pure psychotic poetry
    raw scattered fuzzy logic thinking

i often would stop after a paragraph and think wait did i just read that..then go back to try rereading the paragraph, this time reading the exacyt words not just drifting therough the thoughts and images created by them and it wouldnt make the same sence when trying to understand the exact sentences..
it really is a book more for the subconceise then concies mind..

Today I compiled the quotes for the text-based left arm tattoo sleeve design I'm working on (the right arm's gonna be all colourful pics). Authors included are Virginia Woolf, Jeanette Winterson, Haruki Murakami, Russell Hoban :) Plus a couple of song lines. It's gonna be ace :D

I've read a few books with that theme/storyline, but The Fifth Sacred Thing is definitely my favourite out of them all.

im totally interested in pioneer stuff to bcmama :) can you recommend anything for me to get from the library?

i also have quite a few homesteading/how to type of books: gardening, farming, herbalism, wildcrafting.... love that kinda stuff.

lets see what else.... all my books are boxed up from when i moved back to my parents place.
Lord of the Rings of course
Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follet
War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy
Dune, amazing amazing books that i will never forget and will read again many times.
The Stand - only Stephen King book ive been able to get into but it rulz.
the Earths Children Series - Jean M Auel. read several times due to extreme awesomeness.
the Blue Sword - Robin Mckinley. every book ive read by her has been great.
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte. had to read it in english and fell in love with it.

there more but i can never remember.
in general i really like historical novels (as well as old books), sci-fi, fantasy, and crime/detective/murder as escape literature.
any reccomendations would be awesome btw. part of the reason i rarely read anymore is that i have no idea what to read.

Im currently reading...Eat, Love and Pray by Elizabeth Gilbert. Its a womens journey to three coutnries, Italy, India and Indonesia and in Italy she learns to eat, in India she learns to love and in Indonesia she learns to balance it all by praying. She breaks it all down in 108 short stories because in India...or to any hindu and Buddhist 108 is a very significant number for it can be broken down to several differnt multiples of three....three being a very universal and holy number. 108 is also the number of prayer beads on any japa mala necklace or rosary. So far its a good book....Im only on short story 12 though!
