1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

You could also subscribe to the forums and get an upgrade to Supporter or Lifetime Supporter here

if there is a taxpayer funded institution in place to keep things like this from happening i expect them to do their job.

if their wasnt then sure i would say as others here have "buyer beware" and yes that is what i would prefer, however that was not the case.

what good is having the damn thing if they are not going to do their job?

the bottom line is these people trusted the checks and balances placed on the market by the federal government.whether i like the SEC or not is irrelevant because it is there and as such gave these people extra assurances that something like this would not and could not happen.

oh don't worry... he will get a get out of jail card from the docs... but just maybe he will be one of those rare cases where he actually does his time. But I doubt it

how long did those Boeing execs serve for scamming the government out of millions?

frankly, I don't expect any (gov't) agency to do their job. in other words.. I'm not surprised. lol! but that's a sad state when people start reaching this level of cynicism. I say time for a revolution!

    Personal responsibility always comes first.

It's easy to just blame it on the government.

    That's what pussies do.

Because they made way too much profit.

...and didn't keep an eye on their own investments.

That's what happens when you let someone else play with your money.

the fact is a very very small percentage of investors oversee their own trades.

they did keep a eye on their investments with their monthly statement and dividend checks.

to me it goes back to the same thing, why is the SEC even there if they allow this kind of fraud to go on for decades? its a complete and total waste of taxpayers money .

He should get to work as a door greater at Wally World...every dime of his minimum wage pay will be put into a "Fuck You" fund that he will never see.

Oh...and he has to find a way to pay his rent and utilities every month like every other swinging dick.

I'm sure his family is picking out some nice tennis racquets for him now.Too bad he didn't rip off a 7=11 for 8 or 9 bucks, then he'd get some real time.Somewhere along the line everyone has to entrust their money to someone else.We can see how well that's working.
