Hey guys please take a look at my ladies. 2 wks into flower they stand 41inches tall and in 40ltr pots in soil. I have a 600w sodium bulb and think i may have burned them. Lamp was about 6 inches away from tallest plant until friend said "WHAT!! Too close" lol. now have lamp approx 20 inches away. Noticed problem happened over about 2 days. Margins are yellowing and leaves are drooping and curling down with rust spots forming all over the leaves around tops. Midway down the plant isnt too bad for drooping but rust spots are all over lower shade leaves. Having trouble drag and drop piccys so look in my album thanks
Grr I'm useless at nut probs but that sure aint heat stress leafs would tend to curl upwards around the edges and go abit crinkly and can take on a heavy green-burnt colour but thats normally around the heat source and would.nt be all over the plant unless the hole set is over heating. Would say some kinda nut problem. Not saying this is rite but last time i had plants with rust spots all over and drooping leaves was first time i over fed with the p and k bloom food (p and k foods tent to be salt based). In such a case you would flush with pain water to get rib of the build up of salts and feed less later in the future.
compared the leaves to pictures in the growers bible and im thinking its a magnesium problem gonna go get epsom salts today and use 2 teaspoons per 2 gallon of water for next 3-4 days and see if that cures the problem il keep you informed
Sounds about rite to me manganese seems to be a common problem (especialy if ya using miracle grow soil). Really aint no good at nut problems been growing for years now and i only ever get burning or yellowing but i do use a more complete plant food with all the trace elements and loam based soil. Thanks keep us posted and share the knowledge.
ye im in miracle grow tomato grow bags never used it before so ur prob right. ive put in the epsom salts with 2 gallons of water to 4 teaspoons ratio. gonna hav to wait for a good 4-5 days before il notice any change but will post with the outcome as soon as theres any change. thanks rock
Ok been about 5 days now and still no signs of plants getting better. They seem to be getting worse. Im putting it down to overfeeding. As miracle grow has its own fertilizer I have also been adding my own and think that that is whats caused my plants to fall ill. So heres what ive done.... Today I have flushed each 40ltr pot with 160ltrs of plain water which I have adjusted to 6.2 I am now gonna leave them for another 5 days then il add my boost nutrients and pk nutrients. However I wont be adding base nutrients unless they look like they need it. The fertilizers in the miracle grow should be enough to sustain the plants Last time i use miracle grow!! Just goes to show cut corners with cheap soil + inexperience = problems. Look forward to hearing if what im doing is the best thing for these plants in this condition
