one of many lolworthy quotes in that post... i dont even have to say anything. everyones read my posts in the white tips thread and youre the only one who doesnt seem to grasp simple logic. backcomb damage on part of my dread that wasnt backcombed? magic! hair that falls out of your scalp (ive read somewhere that its roughly 100 per day. not sure of that stat though) just makes its way out of the dread never to be seen again? magic! really? i said that? funny i dont remember. you come up with shit like that but deny that you make up stuff to suit your version of the truth... i just dont get it. do you think that because your posts are so indecipherable you can just say anything you want and no one will have actually spent the time reading and know when youre bullshitting and call you on it? everyone involved here has read your posts and mine. try getting someone to agree with you. and will someone please quote me pushing someone to backcomb (or do anything else)? as for the google link you posted, all those sites seem to refer to backcombing as a temporary hairstyle. thats like comparing styling wax used in nondreaded hair to caking your locks in wax.
*is late* no one told you to go anywhere dude, just try being less of an egotistical know-it-all and try listening to others for once. especially if they have a problem with something youre doing. its called being a good friend and a decent human being.
wht does undamaged hair do for your dreads anyway, in the pictures on your link, it looks like that little end would wrap and tangle way better then a perfect blunt. And I've yet to see any actual evidence that having "damaged" hair contributes to whether or not u have nice locks.
If SE is leaving, I feel maybe it would be best if I went too. I kind of feel guilty that things are starting to really suck around here for people. I'll have to give it some thought...
Well, I'm sorry, but I have a very strong opinion on posts like the last one SE just made. When things go sour in a thread and you decide to leave an attention-seeking "goodbye, cruel forum!" post, you are being immature and insincere. When people confront you after a prolonged period of dealing with your offensive statements, you pick up your ball and go home? I'm sorry, I just think there are many tactful ways of leaving a board you are a long time member of, and I don't think SE's tactic was one of them.
I dont think anyone should leave!!!!! People are going to disagree. Crammin your opinions down someones throat is bad period. No better than the government you speak ill of, or parents that have forced opinions on you. Sometimes its best to only give advice when asked (I had to learn that from my daughters) I knew dreads were controversial, but I have never seen it more than by the ones who are sporting them! Hope everyone feels differently by tomorrow! I would miss anyone who left!
So anyway I finally had a few hours to relax and watch a good flick. Australia, what an amazing film!!! Two thumbs up!
Lux: Yay! Another hardcore Frida freak like myself! Diego was an ass!!!! He was a good artist though. He was sooooooo friggin ugly! I always get goosebumps when I see his pics due to his fugliness! I dont know what Frida saw in him. Anywhoooo....I would love to do an art trade whenever you have the time. Good luck with your show!
I just went to my daughter's school band concert and the played the theme song from the Simpson's! It's was frakin' awesome!
Funny thing.....with me and my husband both being musicians, none of my daughters have showed any interest in music...they are into sports...hummmmmmm
She plays the trumpet in the school band ( a grade ahead I might add ), and she learned how to play the piano from her gramma and she is teaching herself how to play the flute. She also plays around with her keyboard, djembe and harmonica. She has a few ethnic flutes and recorders too. I never learned to play an instrument, but I love to sing, dance and drum. My hubby is teaching himself to play guitar, and he comes from a very musical family.
Roquette....damn girlie your dreads are really dreadin up! When I first joined this site I remember seeing an update of yours and they were great but not nearly as glorious as your sig!
She is also a published poet and has won many awards & contests for her writing. I'm a very proud mama.
The drama always happens when I'm asleep... When I'm on here during the day and in the early evening it's all fairly chilled and mellow, then whenever I come on first thing in the morning, all hell seems to have broken loose again. And yeh there is a soaringeagle connection...I can never fully work out why, coz most of the time he is just telling the truth about dreads. I do get why, if you have seen hundreds of heads of beautiful dreads form naturally you'd kinda just wanna shake a person for trying to add a load of extra fuss to the process and really emphasise to them that none of it is truly necessary... But then on the other hand, whenever there's a post from a new member saying "ok I'm all set to go with the dreadkit/the backcombing/whatever etc" I always get this sharp intake of breath and cringe as I wait for them to receive their "welcome rant". I'm sure it's possible to convey the good and correct advice without sounding so...ya know, crazy! Maybe find out a little more about them first? Meh. I dunno, coz like I said, most of the advice is sound, so it technically shouldn't piss people off so much; it must just be how it's delivered I guess. Blahh. Morning all!
