Im really worried about him. He's a one year old Bengal cat, usually super active and crazy. Always eats a lot and is always begging for food, but now his food bowl has been full since Saturday. I changed his dry food today to see if there was something wrong with it, but he still hasnt had any.

We just served him wet food and he went crazy like he always does, super loud meows, took one bite and sat in front of it, then left it all there and went back upstairs. He has spent most of the day upstairs or sleeping.

He has also thrown up on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Only once everyday.

Do you have any advice? Should I just take him to the vet? Im scared!

Oh Lord! something really is wrong...could even be kidney problems! Too young/not the right age for teeth problems, imh.
Yeah, please get him to the vet. it's something - eating habits changing like that mean something, seriously.
Please post back and tell what happens.

Also, when you say throw up - do you mean as in hairball throw up, or mushy type throw up? There's a difference...which if it is Not the long, feces appearing hairball throwup, that's another sign something is wrong.

hell yes, do take kittie to the vet right away!

if you don't have pet insurance for kittie... GET IT NOW!
vet bills do go sky high quite quickly!
i have four cats and two dogs and the pet inurance for all six of them cost $ 400.00 (u.s.a. funds) per-year.
pet insurance is one hell of a money saver!
it would cost me around $ 2,000.00 in vet bills per-year without the insurance.

it would cost you around $ 120.00 to insure kittie annually. and, that will more then pay for itself with the routine yearly health check up for kittie!

I'd say that he could have a impaction in his intestines which is putting him off of his food. I would take him to the vets before the issues get worse.

lol,i figured as much. umm go get a good wormer and worm him as directed then see how he is in a couple days..

donnt waste your money on a vet till after you do that..

all animals, even if they are inside animals need to be wormed on a regular basis.. my guess is his belly is full of them nasty lil critters and thats the problem.

If he's full of worms he would have a very hard belly.

I would take him to a veterinarian without delay. I know it may cost you on this visit, but better safe than sorry. The pet insurance is a good idea, but it is probably not wise to wait for it to take effect if his appetite is abnormal and he is throwing up what little he eats.

True, it may be worms, but you never know until you get him a complete physical with the blood work tests and it is important to remember that the any worm pills you get from a pet store are not as strong or as effective as a prescriptive worm medication from a vet.

I hope for the best for your Bengal, since they really are cool cats!

id kill my cat before id waste money i dont have to spend on a fucking animal that i cant eat.cant breed and sell the babies (i dont believe this cat has papers) and otherwise could never make up the costs i would have to put out to save it. but thats just me..

and yes,i know autentiques situation and i KNOW they dont have the extra money to spend on vet bills..

nope if wormer didnt fix it,id put it out of its misery..

folks better get used to this mentality, obama is going to see to it this very same mentality is applied to humans when it comes to medicare and medicaid.

if they dont see where it benefits society to save you, they are gonna let you die rather than waste the money.regardless of whether the technology is there to save you or not..

    dont believe me? research it...

before you slam me,answer me this,

so its ok for obama and the government to let humans die cause it costs to much to save them but im wrong for feeling the same about animals?

Just so everyone knows, my cat is fine. I was supposed to get a ride to the pet store on Friday and get the wormer, but I never got to go and I spent the whole night feeling sad because I had to go to Jersey and leave the cat and I thought he was gonna die or something and I wasnt even gonna be there. I had the ultimate guilt trip, but when we came back he's back to normal, acting crazy, eating, being loud, being weird, but his usual weird.

Im still gonna get the wormer, just in case, but Im just happy that he's back to being himself.

    :):)
