I have been to 4 funerals in my life and they played "The Wind beneath my Wings" at all except one. That song always seems to make me cry uncontrollably, even if it is one of the worst songs ever written. The last funeral I attended played "I did it my way". I am really grateful for that. I smiled and thought about how cool it was that this person had chosen such a song for their funeral. I am yet to decide what sort of song to have played at my funeral, but I'm not sure why I should really care since I will be dead. What do you want to have played at your funeral?
to be honest, i've never noticed the songs that are played at funerals. and in all reality, i don't particularly care what they play at mine. i'm tempted to say something funny, but i wouldn't actually do something to hurt my family at their worst moment when it wouldn't affect me one way or the other.
I'm pretty sure if I had something funny played at my funeral my family would not be surprised. Not that I am particularly funny, but I am probably the most irreverent person to plague my family for several generations.
Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye...... Cheers Glen. EDIT....I Believe This Song Was In Fact Played At A Funeral Service In A Crematoriam. As The Casket Was Moving Toward The Furnace. The Guy Was Quite A Practical Joker. And After The Initial Shock To The Mourners.. They All Just Cracked Up With Laughter.. Way To Go..??.
If Will Ferrell outlives me, I want him to sing "Dust in the Wind" for my funeral. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGS6najMzjI
I always liked this one too and when I die by Blood sweat and tears and this cover Satisfied Mind - Jeff Buckley
oh all right. would be better if i was a woman though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77d9BdLQJtQ&feature=related
But, out of respect for my family I most would likely request this tune for my funeral. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNQRfBAzSzo
This was played at the last funeral I attended...It was chosen by her and was sung live by a Lady with an acoustic guitar Turn by the Byrds
i would want "all things must pass" by george harrison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GytPv_v29lc followed by whatever my family wanted to hear, provided it was mostly happy music. i want a going away party, not a bunch of mourners.
