so... I just turned 18. my life has been tough so far, but nothing has been able to make me sour in heart. I'm one of those guy's that does absolutly anything to bring me to be the kind and good of heart person I'm going to be. I all the time, see that I'm going to have a bright future. I'm literately a obsessive compulsive musical genius. and I always seem to know what to do next if something doesn't follow through. giving up on anything is the hardest thing for me to do.
but thats enough on who I am... all my life I have read life storys of people just leaving and going on a spiritual journey to anywhere the road bring them... or their feet. and I have aways knew that no matter what I do successfully in life I have to no matter what go on one of these journeys even if I'm shit poor. I'm very experienced in wilderness survival. I practically want a pointless journey... now most people would find this very dumb... I'm mean I could end up dead. but I am risking that. I only have 100 years to live... or less. and this will be one of the few chances I can do something like this.
now I hope someone has alot of experience in this matter. and maybe give me a few pointers on what to expect. and how to get by.
I think having my music with me would help a bit... I tend to usually get good tips.

keep in mind this is all for spiritual growth...
as dangerous and dumb as this sounds... there is no reason I will not do this.
    peace and love
    Charlie

    sorry,no useful advice :)

well spoken, its where nothing else really matters then just living your own life, and possible death just makes you want to live harder.
thank you, and good luck on your journey when your ready...
who knows, maybe we'll cross paths

We have some forums on hip forums about independent living, living on Earth, and outdoor living. Those would be good to read up on. Look into websites about backpacking and hiking too. Learn as much as you can.

It doesn't sound dumb at all. In fact, I can relate. I hope to go on similar excursions throughout my life.

I'm pretty much set in wilderness survival. its more of the traveling part and being in small citys or even big citys stuff. what to expect, and what to avoid.

dont think you should refer to your hopefully life changing experience as ''idiotic''...also i've heard that ''change comes from within''....good luck and keep a close eye on your guitar at the train stations in europe

What I feel like doing (sorry if this doesn't help you much/at all) when I turn 18 is hitchhike to as many places as possible, and go where ever the person that picks me up is going. Mainly to experience 100's of different things that few people get to experience. Maybe even try getting enough money to do that in other country's as well.

    Charlie,

Spiritual growth is an odd thing...kinda like our physical growth it sorta just "happens" by surprise. Thus, the "journey" in and of itself is not so much of a "spiritual awakening" as it is just positioning you to be in the right places at the right time to experience such an awakening. And frankly, it has been my experience that spiritual awakenings don't come to everyone that seeks them.

But, be that as it may, if you have the draw within to seek such an awakening I think you must follow that pull. And notice the words I chose to use - "draw and pull". If you truly have this "drawing" within your heart, then listen to it - where does it whisper for you to go? And as you journey forth, don't expect to have the steps planned out in detail...oh no, the Spirit pulls you along the path only with gentle tugs - and only with small steps. So part of the "awakening" is to learn to constantly listen for that inward small voice giving you a "peace" within about your next step along the journey.

From my own experience, spiritual awakening is an inward journey. Even in days of old people would oft times seek isolation in order to hear the Spirit speaking within (vision quests and such). But, much also can be learned from the ugly things of this world - for how can one recognize beauty without having seen the ugly? So if the Spirit draws you to a crowded city slum, observe and be sure to see what you are looking at...and feel how it makes you feel inside your breast...spiritual awakening can happen anywhere - even in the ugliest slum. Just remember, it is a spiritual quest you are on - try to not confuse your thoughts for spiritual insights - thoughts are intellectual insights - spiritual insights are more of an "ah-ha" awareness that comes in a moment and cannot be properly described with words. Our intellectual insights can often change, but usually our spiritual insights become part of our core being - the two work in harmony to make us who we are to be.

I encourage you to wander and hopefully find what you seek...
