Man charged with holding wife hostage for $600 Staff Report Published: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 2:03 p.m. Last Modified: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 2:05 p.m. DUNNELLON - Deputies said a 46-year-old Dunnellon man was arrested early Tuesday and charged him with aggravated assault, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and false imprisonment after he held his wife hostage and threatened to shoot her if she did not give him $600. The woman's daughter called the Marion County Sheriff's Office after receiving a text message from her mother saying she could not leave the couple's home until she paid him $600 for a car. When deputies arrived at the Dunnellon home, where the couple live, the man - William Keenan - put the shotgun on the floor and was placed under arrest. The victim told officials that she felt threatened and did not leave because she believed Keenan would harm her and her family. Inside the home, deputies found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a small baggie that contained 16 Cipro pills. Keenan, who was arrested shortly after midnight, was then taken to the Marion County Jail.
"Charged with" does not equal "guilty of". Bill is a decent guy, I don't know what happened, I wasn't there. I don't know his wife, I don't know what was going on. I am not going to judge someone until I hear the whole story.
thats really surprising, but like i said in the other thread biut the other brither in jail people make mistakes. sometimes emotions or desperations opush us to extremes, way beyiond what wed normaly concider appropriate behavior. i cant guess at what went down. but its over a car i gather, maybe shed gone out and bought a car when they couldnt afford rent? it could have been a desperate act to try to prwesserve sanity in theyre lives, theres no way at guessinmg the situation based on the article. and its not our place to judge without at least hearring his side of the story
Another update from MamaChele: He told me that a lot of it was bogus, because his wife has a brain tumor, not doing so well, and her daughter is not liking him right now and it was the daughter who called the cops, claiming he was holding the mama against her will. The rest they got when they found him. That's all I know..... sorry. I was pretty shocked to hear from Tradin Bill in the first place, but it was through another kid AJ and I knew years ago who's in the same 'pod' with Tradin Bill.
