You can wear long sleeved shirts underneath your apron tops. or Like retrofishie said....big wooly sweaters, grannie sweaters (thrift stores are the best to find sweaters) long john tops, tie dye em to make em look cool. Wear em under your band T's. Long john bottoms are perfect to wear under your skirts. Leg warmers too. Toe socks!!! And then of course, gotta have nice warm scarves and mittins....

Wear a "drug rug" some people know it as that , some don't....they are mexican- looking jackets made out of hemp. They have hoods and a front pocket and are very comfy when you put them on and very warm.

all about mad amounts of layers! i love anything corderoy, it just feels warmer. cord pants, cord jackets....soooo nice. i make my own hats, too, so i've always got a funky hat that i can match with a lot of stuff. and of course, home made hobo looking scarves. you can throw 'em on over or under anything. oooo...and thrift store boots. they're lots of fun....i raided my moms closet and found some funky as hell lace up leather boots that she wore back in the seventies. pair 'em with some super thick wool socks, it's heaven. winter is kinda fun, cuz you can just pile on all of your favorite clothes at once until you're warm enough. in the winter.....you're allowed to dress funny, cuz everyone understands that you just wanna be warm, so anything goes.

    Yay let's goooo to canada!!

Okay I love buying massive coats and wearing them over cute collared tops so you can slightly see it at the wrists and neck.

I found a cute doily sweater at salvation army that I love wearing over a long sleeve ski top (it keeps you warm by being real close to your skin), and under a worn in short sleeve button up. If you're still freezing, add a coat!

I also wear my long corduroy brown jacket over a hooded sweatshirt (under the sweatshirt=longsleeve top under short sleeve). It looks cute with jeans and vans or burned orange/baby blue corduroys.

I thought it was called a surf baja, or baha. I've heard them called potato sacks, mexican jackets, hippie pullovers, and now I guess drug rugs. I got mine by doing a search for "surf baja" on eBay.

    Happy hunting :)

Yeah, I always called them baha's. DiffKettleOfFish.....you look so cute in that picture. And deffinitely warm and comfy ;) And MountainGirlVT...You're right, winter is fun coz just about anything goes. I made the cutest little leg ankle/arm warmers out of an older pair of my 2 year old neices warm stockings a few years back. Just cut them to make little tubes and I wear them over my feet just so my toes stick out so I can still wear my flip flops. I wear sandles pretty much all year 'round so it makes it easy for me to wear em and still keep my feetsies warm ;p

i saw this place... www.blanketsupply.com . I am crazy for blankets of any kind, so this is an awesome place. i suggest a as many pants as you can fit under some jeans, as many as you can fit over those jeans and a long skirt on top. I hate shoes, so i tend to do the multiple sock thing ( 4 pair was my max), and a zillion shirts and a hoodie.

*~layers are definately the way to go! its brutally wet and crisp here right now... brrrr. the apron top looks fan-friggin-tastic overtop long-sleeved/underwear/t-shirts or all three. and/or with a nice wooly cardingan (my fav). i have like twenty different colourful scarves from thrifting that help keep me nice and toasty as well as mittens... *love* mittens. long rugby socks that go up past the knees ~ pants under all my long skirts ~ sometimes i wear two skirts over the pants ~ layers and more layers. i'm definately a colourful kitten all winter long*~
