This is a great topic. Im a bass player. guitar player smart? really? i havent met a one personally that was all that quick. they for the most part have a strongly lacking concept of the theory of harmony. and rhythm is kinda a hit or miss, with em. i teach guitar players. anyway the whole thinking a guitar player is inteligent has got to be one of the most redickulous line of bs ive ever heard, both sonicly and figureatively. especialy with the current musical climate, to think that any musician is inherently more clever than a musician of a different instrument. i mean popular crap like jet or thrice or thursday or,ehhhh, all of it! i am sad now.


however the reason that my guitar player is not with a musician loving skank (like i am) may very well be because he also plays bass guitar exceedingly well.


on second thought all you broads that think musicians are hot, get to work, because someone somewhere may be going without.

Ya know what I don't purposefully go for guys who play and it isn't a turn on or a turn off but I have never had a boyfriend who didn't play. Very strange.

 

i think that musicians are very sexy, but i also think someone shouldn't be judged wether or not they play an instrument. I know it may sound hokie but come on, why would you only date people who play guitar. Your closing out room for so many other talents. Im not disagreeing im just being insightful.

I like guitar players as well they are sexy and I like the idea of jamming with them too since I play the drums... I wouln't want a boyfriend who plays the drums too, becuase he would most likely tell me what I'm doing wrong and then Id'e get pissed lol.

 

I've only dated musicians/artist types. I find that they are usually the ones that I have the most in common with. *shrugs*

 

That's one of the things that attracted me to my husband when I first met him. He played bass guitar for a hard rock band. He wrote poetry, drew fantastic portraits, was skilled at sculpting and was just a deep thinker. An artist. I am a creative person myself, so it was awesome to be with someone who had a lot of the same interests and views as I. I remember when I told him that I wanted him to draw me. Naked.

We were opposites in a way though. I was a "clean-cut", cheerleader, preppy looking little gal, and he was a raw, rugged man. I was inexperienced in many ways, a virgin, and he, experienced and just the most sexy man I had ever laid eyes on.
He was, and is, totally sexy. Yummy.

Anyway... I haven't met a drummer who could keep up with me... plus most of my friends can't play any instruments worth a crap. I happen to play more instruments then I know I play... keyboards, piano, organ, banjo, mandolin, trumpet, trombone, harmonica...

But... I don't really have any standards except for personality. That's what always gets me. Wether they're a nice person or acceptive towards others. There's nothing more beautiful than that... well... eyes... lol... but that's not a standard, that's a plus.
