In Illinois. Obama didn't lie. He's not taking your guns. He's taking your bullets. Illinois General Assembly - Bill Status for HB4258
I don't see that bill passing And if it does it said nothing about it being illegal to possess ammunition made before then. And Illinois is insane with it's gun laws to begin with, everyone that doesn't believe in the second amendment should really just move there, and they can have their gun free state.
Meh. I'm not sure how Obama is linked to this yet, since it was this guy who submitted the bill: http://ilga.gov/house/rep.asp?GA=95&MemberID=1245 This was a bill presented in the Illinois State Assembly, not the Federal House of Representatives in which Obama governs as President. It has little to do with Obama. Codifying bullets makes sense for ballistic purposes and legal purposes. I would support this bill. It'll help phase out unmarked bullets in Illinois and replace them with codified ones, traceable ones, legally documented ones.
I dont care for it, also how would they be able to read the code on a bullet that has turned into a mangled mass of metal after it stuck something? seems like feel good politics to me.
*shrugs* Maybe not so much for ballistic purposes when the bullet code is unrecoverable, but they at least have control of a code system of where the bullets have been bought, made and sold.
that's true I guess, however (I dont know if your a US citizen) but I firmly defend the 2nd amendment and that, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". a well regulated Militia is necessary to the security of a free State. This new bill seems like a tool to flush out opposition and control those who have yet to submit.
this as old as the idea, to register the ballistics of the weapon before its sold to the consumer.. Rebore/rerifle/rechambering pawns.. Bullets can be reloaded... Fuck the FED.. There is no god but Allah.
That's nice. I don't believe in the 2nd amendment or that militias are necessary. Could you explain how this is a tool to flush out opposition and control those who have yet to submit?
Early constitutional provisions or declarations of rights in at least some ten different states speak of the right of the 'people' [or 'citizen' or 'citizens'] "to bear arms in defense of themselves [or 'himself'] and the state,' hus indisputably reflecting that under common usage 'bear arms' was in no sense restricted to bearing arms in military service. They argue that the Second Amendment's words "right of the people" mean "a right of the state" — apparently overlooking the impact of those same words when used in the First and Fourth Amendments. The "right of the people" to assemble or to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures is not contested as an individual guarantee. Still they ignore consistency and claim that the right to "bear arms" relates only to military uses. This not only violates a consistent constitutional reading of "right of the people" but also ignores that the second amendment protects a right to "keep" arms. so basically if you regulate gun/ammo out of existence only the military, police, and criminals will have weapons. As many of us here know the Feds arent exactly friendly, neither are the police, neither are criminals. By tracing bullets they know what non-police, what non-military person did what while ignoring any potential breaches of law by those federal/state authorities. The second amendment states that we the people have the right to bear arms and defend the constitution from enemies abroad and within, it also says that the right to bear arms should not be infringed, hence those people are attacking the constitution and the rights of the people it was made for, therefore they are enemies of the constitution and if they go down for there obvious violations of law they want to find out who did it, who they are affiliated with, where the bullets came from, etc, to crush opposition.
See, I'd be all for gun control if it meant total control. Meaning, the government gives up their weapons. Since that is bloody unlikely, I say the people have a right to protect themselves. I don't have a gun, but believe others should have that right. Other wise it is criminals in the black market and government (often intertwined) that own all the weapons, which does not suit the people one bit. Than we have mafia like people and government harassing people to no end. Some laws were meant to be broken, hopefully people remember the second amendment in regards to this.
As a proud socialist,i say,Obama is the world's smartest man and we should let him do his job and save this bold new country. Yeeeah dawg,we got our shine on! Touch him and we ride.
I'd like to have stock in a bullet manufacturer right now, this scare will probably up their sales to people like the ones that stocked their basements prior to Y2K.
