i found some threads on favorite songs and stuff but i wanted to see what everyone's fav live versions are.

    mine:
scarlet begonias - dick's picks 25 and live at the cow palace 76
mountains of the moon - dick's picks 26 (haven't seen it on any other live albums)
    friend of the devil>dire wolf>black peter- dick's picks 8
    casey jones - dick's picks 4
dark star/saint steven/turn on your lovelight - live/dead however very good everytime they play any of those :)
help on the way/slipknot > franklin's tower - one from the vault
touch of grey - download series 11
bird song - three from the vault
morning dew - dick's picks 7 and two from the vault
    franklin's tower - Space - U.S. Blues - Download Series 7
deal - live at the cow palace
    china cat sunflower - dick's picks 22

i'm just getting into other jam bands like phish, umphrey's mcgee, sti, moe., etc. so i don't have favorites yet but i'm a huge dead head

The first part of Live/Dead is one of my favorite jams... Dark Star > Saint Stephen > The Eleven > Lovelight. I especially love the coda ("High green chilly winds...") to Saint Stephen.

I've always been big on the China Cat / Rider sequence from Europe '72, or any of those jams.

I've found a couple different recordings of the Dead playing "Werewolves of London" (I think at least one of them was a Halloween show) and I've loved that, especially Donna's vocals.

I love some of the covers that Phish does, especially Bold As Love from Hampton Comes Alive.

Im a Deadhead without a favorite song - - maybe a favorite show , or the way a certain tune was played at a certain show > but I cant name a "favorite " - Just too many variables.

    bidYouGoodNight,
    JJack :hat:

edit to say- -ooops I just saw the thread said live band / jam band ,and assumed it was a dead-thread > there were a few jam bands back in the day(none better than the GD of course - - but The Allman Brothers(with Dwayne) comes to mind.
