Hello guys, i'm new to meditation and I enjoy meditation and I just have a question. Can i meditate for several hours or more? I have all the time to meditate and i enjoy doing it. But the question is should I? Or should I do 30 mins as suggested for newbs?
I make sure to do it as long as I don't get bored or drained. I started with 20 mins, and after that it became draining, make sure not to drain yourself, stay inside your body to make sure this doesn't happen and to feel your body as you be. If i'm sick it can be draining trying to meet a spirit guide, but if you just spend five minutes drawing in light it can really help. After a week I was meditating for an hour with great results. Yoga is a great practice which will increase some different impacts on your meditations as yoga is grounded in reality and this world. I would recommend five minutes or so of yoga, just some sun salutations (asanas) practice is extrodinary before a meditation as it helps release tension in the body, mind, and then the meditation helps open your soul. just my .002:cheers2: enjoy! you are in for
glad you are begining to meditate, its such a journey, I really haven't met many people who have done it and don't come back to it at some point in their life, it will help you with anything you like. I listen to some music occasionally, kinda trance music if you will. Their is an extraordinary meditation cd if you get the book entitled "spirit guide contact through hypnosis" its a great starters book and has a cd that guides you with slow, mellow trance music. I wouldn't play anything that you will be looking for a known outcome such as a corrus or bridge. If your doing meditation to meet spirit guides or past dead relatives then I wouldn't play music as this will interfere with your clearaudience. Sometimes I find I zone out if I don't have music. Experiment and feel your meditation I don't think you can go wrong! Let us know how it goes!

Meditate for as long as you feel is right for the moment but don't give up to easily, I do 5 minute meditation 3 to 4 times a day for relaxation(just breathing, no music ), and 2 to 3 times a week I do a full 30 minutes to an hour meditation with sound healing music to achieve a higher relaxed state.
